I did get out this morning. Birds were spooky but I managed 9 over a few hours. This cooler weather and bird numbers being what they are sure makes a guy want to take a hike everyday!

I see they also have an aerosol version but I think the deodorant stick may the better route. Seems to me it might "wear out" once applied at a slower pace than the spray.

$100 seems like a great deal. The taxidermist I use is charging something like $175, enough it convinced me to attempt my own this year. Wasn't overly difficult and turned out nice.

Was back out this morning and scratched out a solid 10. They made me work it, hiked 11.5 miles. Started in the same spot I hunted on the opener but the birds wouldn't hardly let me anywhere near them (running then flushing out of range). Hiked over to some new country (same general area) that was maybe less pressured and had better luck. It's been a wonderful season so far.

I had two half boxes, right around 25 shells. I'm no purist, grounded pounded 6, got the other 4 outta the air. Target rich, must have been 100+ birds in a small area.

I'm an idiot, thought I had more shells in the truck than I did. Should have check before heading out. Gonna try to get back out mid next week. Hopefully you're knocking them down as I type! Good luck!
