Id borrow a rifle before using a 223. -
I ordered this one, if it doesn't work, a Helinox will be up next. A buddy used one a few years ago. It looked comfortable, but iffy on support for me.

I shoot .40 through my model 40. If that big beefy pistol can cycle 40 ammo, anything can. Well, my 6" Dan Wesson Bruin might be difficult. Underwood Hardcast rocks.
