Anyone ever up and quit a good job?
firstcoueswas80 replied to muledeerarea33?'s topic in The Campfire
I've always said loving your job is fantastic, but you can't feed your kids or keep the lights on with love. My dad worked for the same large company for nearly 30 years and was one of their top salesmen. He got passed over for promotion after promotion yet stayed. The company was bought out and they started firing guys that had been there for 30+ years so they could bring in their own, much cheaper employees. They changed my dad's job and he simply couldnt keep up. He told then that sever times and they never cared and then let him go. Another guy who was much younger but had been there 10+ years took over his route and HE couldn't get it all done so they fired him to. I learned a lot and gained an entire new level of respect for my dad after that. He went for a while looking for a decent job and bounced around a little bit, but he was so much happier having that monkey off of his back. I was at their house the day he got let go and I remember how relieved and happy he looked, evwn though my mom and dad's main source of income was gone! -
Same for me exactly. I'll be getting a tag though for sure.

The ONE time I was ever fired, for not letting the 5'6 boss call me a "dumb phucking redneck" and then him saying he was gonna kick my butt, I got the call to go to the academy 3 days later AND I had a 2nd job. I've never ever quit a job without my 2 weeks notice. Whether it be minimum wage or a good (at the time) paying job. I'm pretty much stuck with what I do. Doubt I can find a job I can tolerate that pays like this one does. Lots of benefits. Not married to the job, but it has a lot of positives to it that would be hard for any other job to match. -

Alright ladies and gents. School is out and my (almost) 12 year old is looking for ways to keep her busy. She has asked me to list paracord bracelets and dog collars. She wants to sell the bracelet in your choice of color for $15/shipped. Dog collars for $25/shipped. Can pretty much be in what ever color you choose. I'm sure she would be happy to make a matching collar and leash as well, if desired. Collar

I did a quick Google search and could not find any 3" 16 gauge shells. -
Winner.

No need to get a longer barrel. My understanding is Remington tested the longer barrels and discovered that there wasn't a significant speed loos or gain between 21 and 28 inches. My 870 has a 21" barrel.

We kept our range battery on a battery tender, outdoors and it died, as stated with regular water maintenence.
