Lets see him!

Colin, my best bud and I went out scouting a couple weeks ago in hopes of finding a herd we could not only get to, but get to with our wives in tow. Sarah, my wife is 8 months pregnant and Shanell, Colin's wife has terrible ankles. We found a herd that we could get to fairly easily and thought our hunt was all but over. Well.... not so much. Colin and I got out there Thursday night set up camp and were all alone. When we woke up (plenty early Friday) there was a set of headlights going dowe the road, right past camp and to our spot. After getting the frost off of the windshield off we went. The truck ended up getting to 'ourspot' about 5 seconds before us. We pulled up, talked to them (very nice guys) and wished them a good day and were about to leave when they told us to just glass there. Long story short after hearing tons of shots, seeing a bunch of people we left. Got back to all three of these truck and trailers basically surrounding our camp, I could barely pull my trailer out. I think they were lion hunters. If anyone knows who they are, tell them thank you for setting up within 50 yards of our camp, and letting their dogs climb on my table, and our cots . We appreaciate it. Packed up our camp and left. An hour later, after running into nothing but people, we got into our old faithful spot. Twenty minutes later, we had pigs spotted. Colin and I walked over to where they were and saw absolutely nothing. When we go bascially in their living room, one pig casually walked out. Colin took a knee, and planted the pig to the ground, rolling him to the bottom. I had my AR-15 ready for the others, they never appeared. Sunday, we took our wives out for a romantic double date. I messed up royally and was about 10 minutes late in getting my wife a left over tag, so she followed along, 8 months pregnant and all and kicked asss! I am so damnn proud of her! We set up, same spot as with Colin, glassed the main herd within 20 minutes, Made a fantastic stalk down a steep hill, up a small steep hill and got to 85 yards, where Shanell and I had our double down. Again Colin's 270 with 130 partitions laid the hammer down, along with my AR-15 with 50 NBT's. Sunday funday, double date a success! The hard part was gettting the girls back up the big hill we came down and although it took some time, they both dominated the hill!

Terry, dogs aren't what pissed me off. Dogs were being dogs, no big deal. -
40 grain bullet in 1-9 twist AR-15
firstcoueswas80 replied to Big Browns's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Nope, but I shot them out of a 1/8 and they shot great. If they are pushed hard enough (which shouldnt need to be extremly hard) they should work just fine. -
The next show i will buy is the 5.5-25hd or what ever exactly it is, from zeiss.

LOL! I laugh everytime I hear that commercial with that old lady sayin' that! I was stuck on the Cholula, but the Tapatio ranks right up there with it and I might like it better. I'm a hot sauce NUT, I literally put it on everything! Probably the best sauce I've had is home made Chilitepin (sp?) sauce. Those little peppers grow wild on some of the ranches we hunt in Mexico and the flavor is amazing. They can be extremely hot, especially if you try one right off the bush while out hunting! I don't reccomend doing that! But it's easy to tame the sauce down with more tomatoes. My brother got the recipe from our mexican friends and has been making it regularly and it's addicting stuff! I one time had this prick put chitipens in my abondigas soup.... Any idea who that was Jim?

My best buddy Colin, opening day 36b. Glassed about 4 up, went over there to pull a double, only this one was still there. Perfect shot with the .270 I bought him for his birthday a few years ago dropped him in hits tracks at 35 yards. The hike up was not so fun. -
Not to mention shooting non-issued ammo is out of policy

I loved my kimber 22250, accurate, fast and killed like none other but it was to pretty! Now my ar is the only coyote rifle i take. Its a heavy barrel so i see all shots and follow ups are very quick

If available, I'll buy the 22.

Cant stress the highlighted part enough. It sounds selfish, but it is the truth. Word spreads like wildfire and then poof. There goes your success.

Move away from houses, that's not working try to get farther away from where you think people might be calling. Educated dogs are extremely hard to call

Try the Jim white trippler, i believe it is universal and have seen far fewer of then you're sake then the doubler.

Teachers and Guns
firstcoueswas80 replied to Non-Typical Solutions's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
This is, in no way shape it form meant to be an attack in any teacher but..... Flight or fight is what the basis for protection/defense is. Your brain only registers those two reactions.... Knowing as many teachers as i do, most of them would hide in the closet before they engaged a bad guy. In my opinion, this reaction can not be trained into, or out of a person. -

I love the idea but three days is nothing! -
Yep. When this weather clears out ( just in time for the opener) they should be out in force, feeding in the sun!

Is the hype over AR's finally calming down?
firstcoueswas80 replied to anthonyrmatthews's topic in The Campfire
I predict the mags from Magpul, in short term being easier to get. I ordered 10 from them on a special offer and they should be in my mail box tomorrow. But, with the bills passing in Colorado, and if they stick to their word they will be closing their doors and heading out! Any one who supports them and their products PLEASE email, call, fax, write a letter, send carrier pigeions, smoke signals, sign language, etc etc to get them to come to AZ! They would be a fantastic company for our state! -

I bought 2k primers a few years ago when I could actually find them (thats just small ones for the AR), I have about 900 or more Gold Metal Match 215's for my bigger rifles as well.
