.264 Win Mag Powder Choices
firstcoueswas80 replied to scoutm's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I'm telling ya, Larry... Don't over look 4831sc just because of the load density. It shot extremely well in my 270 wsm, and does very well in my dads 7 RUM... Accuracy, and speed wise.... I think I have some still, as well as H1000 if you want to experiment. -
IF youve still got the pump 22, Id like to buy it.

Gorgeous buck for sure!

7mm Rem Mag and Federal 110 grn Barnes Triple-Shock
firstcoueswas80 replied to SunDevil's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Well it certainly a high bc isnt what would make these bullets flat, so the speed is in fact the interesting part. Light bullets did not shoot well in my 7mag either. -

If it doesnt turn up (unfortunately, it is highly unlikely that a high dollar item like that will find its way home), he should look into filing a claim with his home owners insurance. -

Commissioner Pleads Not Guilty
firstcoueswas80 replied to bonuspointjohn's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I am a little confused by the admitting it, then pleading not guilty. As has been said, that is probably his game plan for getting off with no punishment. I wouldn't have a problem with that, as he came forward and admitted it, but we all KNOW that if John Doe off the street did the same thing the AZGFD would not take it so lightly. -

Anyone load for 300UM?
firstcoueswas80 replied to hiawatha's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Theres got to be an issue here. First off, If I was you I would try matching the bullet in the factory load both the actual bullet, and the COAL as well. Second, try switching powders. Don't (and I'm assuming you are but dont know) if you have been sticking to one powder. Mix it up as well as primers and go from there. -
Scouting for a December Hunt
firstcoueswas80 replied to KeithV's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Like has been said, a lot has to do with what unit you draw. For example, I have had 2 36b December tags. I have hunted this unit a lot over the past few years so have a decent grasp on it. A few buddies have shown me some excellent spots that I was not aware of, but had my favorite places that I would check for nice bucks. I had two guys hunting with me a few years ago and I spent a lot of time (what I consider a lot of time anyways) scouting for their hunt... I had 4 90"+ bucks located before there hunt... I KNOW two of them died opening weekend, one I could never find, and one I found and the guy couldn't find it in his scope for 2 hours before he walked over the hill. -
Those old roll top desks are awesome. My grandfather has one, I think they're neat!

Sergio, email them to me and I will post them. Sergio is as good as they come. Hunted with me on my December tag last year, even when he was sick as a dog. Great, honest dude. Don't let the fact he has 4 posts sway you, I can personally 100% vouch for him.

Commissioner Pleads Not Guilty
firstcoueswas80 replied to bonuspointjohn's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
If they drop any/all charges they open them selves up to every other person who has turned themselves in, and then been tried and/or penalized for their infraction to have a law suit against them. They need to go at is within the letter of the law. No breaks or special actions just because of who he is. -
