Brians gonna kill him. Period. And then Im gonna kill his son/brother. -
I did not say most have 10% variance..... I am simply stating tolerances for MOST factory ammo is within +/- 10%. And that is the truth... That can and will be devastating at 1000 yards whether it be hand loads or factory loads that differ by that much.

The Jim White set up is basically the same as the Outdoorsmans set up, just quite a bit cheaper. Its what I use on my Duovids -
So what was the other buck? Im sure that was in the story too but ya gotta give us some sort of info!
-
Not bad for a 2nd place buck, Larry! BUT, you ought know by now you have to post shot distance, gun/bullet/load info etc etc.
-
Very nice buck, Chris. Two bigguns in a row, congrats! Those two studs are quite similar, genetics are obvious in that area!
-
Sure did. Im a human, I make mistakes. Youve never had a goof over 34 years? And I still dont see where this comes into play with a discussion of factory ammo?!

I wasnt getting down on ya.... Just stating... I dont want to get into it, but dont assume just because they were on the roads that they werent working.

Rem 700 accidental discharge.....Yikes!
firstcoueswas80 replied to Viper's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Took a spill while carrying my rifle on my brothers hunt. Got home to wipe out the melted snow (after the hunt) and when I vigorously worked the action, the hammer dropped..... 'Willie' had a Timney trigger dropped at my house today. Hopefully seeing a smith to get it installed tomorrow! -
Yep. Sure do. Everyone on camp was a hand loader, so he had no market share in camp. Do the research... Thats why factory loads are well below max for powder charge.

You think people like that move during the day light hours, especially when they are being looked for?
-
Man, I swear I know your brother form some where.

Thats not the late season... Late season starts Dec 9th... BUT, that is a great tag. I have had it several times in the past and had a lot of luck on it.

Get the right caliber for the job.... 257 wby,264 win mag,270 wsm, 7 rem mag, 300 win mag/wby magy/ ultra mag etc.... And shoot handloaded, tuned to your gun loads. Put $1000 worth of glass on top etc.

New to long range hunting, and your looking straight into diving to the 1,000 yard line?! And you want to stay away from cost of ammo? NORMALLY speaking, if your shooting A. A cheap rifle and B. Factory ammo you SHOULD NOT be shooting much over 300 yards. A little birdy (owner of a very well constructed ammo manufacturing company) told me that tolerances for MOST factory ammo is 10%. So each shot could have a 10% difference in muzzle velocity, trajectory etc. What Im getting at is if ammo price is a huge concern your obvioulsy not reloading, and (in my opnion) shouldnt be shooting long rage AT GAME. Just my thoughts though.

2 for 1.... that is pretty darn sweet there!
