Funny Elk Picture
firstcoueswas80 replied to standman's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Last time I had a cow tag, I had a BULL run 15 yards out side of camp when I was making lunch... Heard it coming, had enough time to drop the bread, grab my rifle and chamber a round.... Too had she was a he! -
Hotels near Arivaca or 36B
firstcoueswas80 replied to Big Browns's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
If you plan on hunting the wEst side between arivaca and sasab you could rent a room from the lady who owns the sasabe store. Should be fairly decent rooms at fairly decent Prices. -
Will probable be able to buy a new model Chevy diesel for the same....
-
well atleats you don't shoot a Hoyt anymore....

Wrap them in bacon, with a jalapeno slice somewhere int he mix. Grill. Possibly throw in some marinade before it goes ont he grill and good to go! -
Matt, neither of mu buddies got the ok from their 'boss' so if I'm gonna fly we need to talk about times, and how I'd get hid horns and meat back. Shoot me a text with that info when you get a chance sometime today please.
-
The 257 is ready to go. Shot it today, actually about 30 minutes before I called Matt and firmed up the hunt. Shot a really good group, and was dead on..... Cant leave it home even if I wanted to!
-
Wish I would have seen these. If it falls through I have cash in hand.

I have 32 loaded 270wsm rounds. 63.5 grains 4831sc, 140 accubonds, f215gmm primers and winchester brass.... in a 50 round plastice container, the rest of the spots are filled with brass... If anyone is interested let me know and we'll make a deal. this load shot tiny groups @3250 FPS from my rifle
-
That sounds about right.... Id have no problem with that on a quality goat... Would give me more time to call some New Mexico coyotes!
-
Just my opnion, but I think you need to move heavier (and slower) instead of light. Fast usually equals a mess.... For example, from my 22-250 40 grainers were nasty nasty nasty. The 50 NBT rarely exited. I just found a 1/2" load with the 68 HPBT from my AR and will be using that this winter.
-
Amanda, I wouldnt be complaining with an archery elk tag in my pocket if I were you!!! My girlfriends mom has a very high quality camera.... They are out of town so I'll be borrowing it
-
Ive never killed anything on opening morning... Wouldnt be a bad thing, as im used to shooting stuff (besides my headshot buck) on the last day or next to last day! Im excited, never hunted antelope before!
-
if the hunt till available, I'll take it.

I dont know if there is any way they can use it, but I have a credit (about $200) at Orbitz for airfare with United Airways..... Chances are I wont use it, they are more than welcome to it if they are willing to fly us airways and they are DONE traveling by Jan 2 2012. -
I agree, use a TSX, loaded for no expansion cuz I would never have fmj ammo on my person in the field, in case I run into 2 or 4 legged coyotes! Not to mention FMJ is illegal to hunt with in AZ

Temp changes on the hunt are the norm. Last year on mine, woke up one morning to my dodge, and my buddies saying 18*... Sure felt accurate... High that day was some like 78-82 or there abouts... Don't be surprised if you see some pre rut activity. In my experience the middle age bucks will be together... Having said that the 100"+ buck I missed last year was seen once with a single doe, and twice by himself
