    pressure signs

I will always stop and back off a touch at sticky bolt lift. My 270 wsm loved 64.5 grains of H4831SC (shot .138" at 100 yards) but the bolt was sticking so I backed it off to 63.5 grans, which still shot at a half inch or so.

    Eberlestock Packs

I have the J107 Dragonfly and love it. I have had it for a few years and it has been the best pack I have used. It is not perfect and I have two main complaints but I do love it! Like all/most eberlestock packs, the shoulder straps could use a little more padding. When carrying out my brothers buck (in the pack, whole) it was digging into my shoulders pretty well and left from bruising. I know the pack really isnt meant to carry 130 pounds or so. It got the job done but could have been a little more comfortable. Also, the top/fanny pack part is a pain in the asss to get to stay clipped on. I am constantly fighting with that.

I dont tow heavy things but my 16' PJ trailer with 2 4x4 quads it doesnt even know is there pulling up Sunset, Bumble Bee, or anywhere in between Tucson and Flagstaff. I get about 17-18 MPG empty, and havent really caltulated while towing.

Rottweiler free to GOOD home ...

If I didnt have 3 shiteaters already I would be on this! My dad bought a Rott when I was 5 and on my first trip home from college I walked out back to find my dog dead! Hes the reason I am as handsome as I am.... A pitbull was running out of a back yard at me when I was about 8.... Frazier put an end to that real quick! Good luck in getting him adopted!

    Wildcat Update

Whats that? An ASU guy talking chit then U of A wins? Crazy! Tines, you summed it up well. Nobody, not even the refs could beat U of A in the secod half. That is the BEST I have see them play this year. You know what to me the difference was? In the second half they had the confidence and were having FUN playing the game!

    UofA

U of A is never going to get respect... Not just among ASpuuuu fans, but also from all the east coast bias commentators etc.... Its ok, keep disrespecting the team... They will keep beating the defending champs by 16 points (and they easily could have put 100 up on the board but Sean Miller took the foot off the throat... Something I dont really agree with)

    Rifle Build questions

I know a lot of people are not too impressed with Shilen barrels as they are among the lower end of custom barrels BUT both of my custom rifles (270 wsm and 257 wby) wore Shilen barrels and shot very well.

Oh yeah, they help... But would you go to a restuarant and watch the chef prepare or your food, or have to prepare your own (especially when the chefs food is obviously better)

    What was your favorite hunt?

And some of you will remember the thread... The "trophy" jack rabbit from a few years ago...

    What was your favorite hunt?

YB, your grandpa seems like a good man to look up to for sure! With out a doubt, for me the best hunt I have ever been on was my little brothers hunt this past year. Him not really ever having the drive to hunt, but enjoying be out there and shooting and then wanting to get a tag was like winning the super bowl to me. THEN he made a PERFECT 400 yard shot and killed his deer cleanly and quickly... I shed tears of pride/joy... Although I do wish the little shiteater had done it closer to the truck.... That pack out was not to fun but I'd do it all over again in a heart beat for him! My dad and I were both as proud as can be! (he put in for a juniors only cow elk tag, hopefully...!) And for me, personally I have had a few memorable hunts... This past deer hunt, hunting on a relly messed up ankle but being able to do it and hunting with 4 different good friends/CWT members. Also being able to do it in memory of my grandma knowing she was watching. And of course, the Kudu in Africa that I hunted hard for 5 days before finding a shooter bull, then executing a PERFECT 353 yard shot, knocking the bull off his feet immediately. Finally drawing a December tag... Screwing that up ROYALY, my dad shooting his best buck to date, then me "guiding" a long time family friend to his best buck to date... in 12 minutes... And of course, 5 years ago being able to sneak within FEET of a pair of mountain lions...

    A few firearms for sale

As with the 1911 I have posted, I am asked to sell these other firearms. I have no pictures currently, but can and will soon. First up for sale is a Smith and Wesson Model 30-1 in the rare 32 S&W long. The gun is in very good condition and looks to be shot very little. Comes with 6 rounds, and a nice leather holster. It looks just like this one that is selling for $450 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=218172035 I am told to ask $375 Up next is a Taurus PT 58S in .380 Auto. this gun is also clean. Has been shot but is in good shape. Comes with a uncle mikes holster, one magazine and about 5 rounds. Also told to ask $375 for this one. There is also a Colt, Pre Ban SP-1 .223 for sale. This rifle comes with two barrels, I am not sure of the specifics on either barrel. Availbe for purchase with this rifle is 21 count-30 round magazines all full with ammo. As well as 16 count 20 round magazines filled with ammo. For the entier set up, he would like $2300. For just the rifle with both barrels $1800 $600 for all ammo, including the ammo box.

Shooting Rest + RH Bow Rest

I have that same rest... You wanna talk about a poorly designed/constructed rest! You HAVE to modify it! My .257 wby broke the rear strap apart on two different rests in less than 5 rouds! Your modifications looks like they will work well!

    T/C icon vs. Savage

I havent shot the new Remington trigger, nor have I played with it, but all of my Remington 700's, including my custom .257 wby have the factory triggers in them. When adjusted by someone who knows what they are doing MOST of the time they can be a satisfactory trigger... That is unless you want it set at less than 2 lbs, then a Timney or a Jewel is a good idea.
