BP Agent Killed in 36B (Peck Canyon)

BIP Agent Terry. As a side note, this is only a couple of miles from where I deer hunted and we saw BORTAC in there from 2 am to 9pm one day. This agent was a BORTAC agent. Sad sad day

Hey, as long as they have been to a Rose Bowl, who cares right? That seems like Chris' last argument... Well, that and I am a nobody because I dont have a degree, and I shouldn't/can't cheer for U of A because I didnt go there.

What would you like pix of... I have allll the pictures you could want, but for now Ill bore you with details: Red H.beest.: shot was 225 yards. I was using a Kimber 300 WSM with the 168 TTSX. I dont recall MV right now, or exact load data but it was a heavy dose of R25, Federal GMM 215 primer, Federal brass. He was laying down, 1/4ing away from me. I stuck the bullet behind the last rib, found it right at the shoulder opposite side. (straight down) It weighed 167 grains: Next was a Black Springbok. 183 yards, facing me, slightly quartering to. Bullet entered front shoulder was found in rear ham. I believ it weight 156 grains. (straight down) Bullet on the right. The one on the left is the same as above Next was my coues deer. 291 yards standing at a kinda funky angle kinda quartering to, but his back half was higher up than his chest a little. (went straight down) I dont know for sure where the bullet was found and I do not have it yet as the meat processor found it and I havent picked up the meat yet:

Yeah I did bag on the Dodge. The trucks are good minus the transmissions. They suck asss, as my truck needs to get its 3rd tranny put in it. And yes, thank you for prooving my point even more so. The Rose Bowl seems to be a big deal to YOU. I dont see any Wildcats fans sitting around talking about never going to the Rose Bowl and how it hurts our feelings. Good post though, btw.

Ok.... still looking for the ethical reasoning behind taking a shot at 1000 yards with a bullet that is DEFINATELY not made, designed, or intended for that situation... And I have recovered 3 TTSX this year... One from a Red Hartabeeste, Black Springbok, and this Coues deer.

So based on your logic, I SHOULDNT cheer for U of A because I went to NAU? And also, me not graduating from NAU, I dont really think is any of your business.... But, just so you know I was bed ridden by doctors orders for 8 weeks during my last semester. Hard to come back from missing two months of school. And I know I am doing pretty poorly for not having graduated college.... Very well paying job with the federal government that I love, I own a home, I own a really nice truck, I went to Africa, I will be going to British Columbia next year for a mule deer hunt, I send my parents money every paycheck to help them out... Doing pretty poorly for not graduating college, aren't I? And as to your logic... I chose NAU based on them having the program I wanted to get my education in (which, BTW I completed all my major classes need to finish my two minors, which I completed in the academy). So because YOU wouldnt root for which the school you previously attended it makes it illegal and wrong for me to do so? And also, when in this thread have I bagged on you for going to and graduating from ASU? Just so your feelings aren't hurt, great job on graduating from ASU. You did a fantastic job and I am glad you did so. You are a much greater person than I for having a piece of paper acknowledging your full college education. This is my logic: U of A has gone to three bowl games in a row.... Never been to a Rose Bowl. Big deal (that seems like all ASU has to brag about, minus the meager win this year) ASU hasnt been to any bowl games during those three years. Do I pretty much have the facts straight or am I missing something?

Ive never understood that either, but the Accubond, and Scirocco II both boast high BCs for bonded bullets. Both shoot well out of my .257 wby as well

match grade hunting bullets and match bullets are two different things. open up and work fine and blowing up and not penetrating are two different things. Dont use a MATCH bullet for huntin gpurposes. Match GRADE bullets are two different things completely.

Pretty easy to call shots when you can see trace in a spotter on a tripod... you should try it. Shot was confirmed after the lion was recovered. An "acquaintance" was called with his dogs once I lost the blood in the rain, after tracking just over 100 yards on my hands and knees, which took over an hour. Guy with dogs and a client found, "shot", and tagged the lion. Impact velocity was just over 1500 fps... I called in someone else to find and tag my lion when I realized I had screwed up.... and I did screw up. AMAX or VLD would have been the ticket. I have used a spotter several times and at much closer distances and I can tell you, they're not always perfect. For example, this last hunt my spotter told me the deer I shot (672 yards) was dead deer walking, that I had hit right behinnd the front shoulder and the bullet exited low on the chest from the other side. It was a 1/4ing away shot. Well, we get over there and no blood no hair no dog. Clean miss, just under him. I would be willing to bet a paycheck or two that your spotter can not precisely call ten out of ten shots at 1,000 or even better yet 977 yards. Again, with the impact velocity that low using a Barnes TSX (btw, my bullet of choice is the TTSX which I just found out my meat processor recovered it from my deer) it is your responsililty to know if your bullet is capable of opening up. Any Barnes follower will tell you that 1500 fps impact velocity is NOT enough to get the bullet to open up. So remind me, how does that put your ethics above theirs? Especially when that lion suffered over night and then was basically put out of its misery, AND tagged by someone else? Please school me on how your antics are better than theirs, all mighty one.

So, at 1000 yards your spotter can guarantee exactly WHERE the bullet hit? Thats a good spotter. I need to get one of them. So, the lion hunters found the dead lion? Or killed him wounded? Not knowing your bullet, and what it is going to do at 1000 yards... I would call that unethical, what would you call it?

So because hes a senior he cant make mistakes? Isnt that part of football/basketball/life? Hmmm.... Lets call it a "freakish" win because a player made a mental or physical mistake. And I'll say it one more time... A bowl game is a bowl game and it sure beats sitting on the couch, sticking pins into the U of A Voodoo doll asking for them to loose.
  23. 71 ARCHERY deer? Wow. I hope to kill 71 deer period!

Nice. Why have you gone away from using your shotgun? It seems alot of the calling you do, or atleast pictures the areas look more like shotgun country? PS, is your cat a little on the rosette side?
