Not gonna disagree, Obama has his priorities seriously out of whack and is terrible but TSX and TTSX bullets work. BUT I wouldnt want to be FORCED to use them. I want them as an option, not a mandate.

My old . 270 loves federal premium loaded with 140 accubonds. Shoots great and hits hard.

Sorry dude, but it's public land. Someone on their quad driving around (asuming they are on a ROAD) is no big deal and nothing you can do about it. Its their land too. Now, if they were off road, then yeah thats not right!

Once served my mountain lion at a CWT get together... everybody snickered at eating a "feline"... they changed their tune after eating it. Huntingfool has made some of his world famous bobcat tacos for me and they were quite tasty... I was hesitant at first, but it was good stuff. However, I DID draw the line at eating coyote. That is something I wouldnt do.

Ernesto, I have one of each. I had my .257 made because I wanted it, not because I needed it. I am comfortable with them both out past 500, but since the .257 is the newer gun, thats what I carry but I would be comfortable with either one of them.

I am speaking of experience here... The 270wsm is a wonderful round to carry for wt, elk etc. You can load light and shoot a 110 TTSX, or go up to 160's for what ever reason. The 140 Accubond of the 140 TTSX is the cats meow, and pushed at 3200-3300 FPS is just as good as any other round out there. Trust me on this one. It hits hard and puts stuff down quick.

I am not much of a wing shooter, but I would be interested.

I have owned a dozen or more Remgington 700's in all different calibers from 22-250 to 7RUM. The fact of the matter is you can get a lemon in any rifle, any caliber. I personally believe the Remington is, and always has been the best production rifle there is. Now, thats not to say that I dont buy other rifles... I do and/or have owned a couple of Kimbers, still own a Mauser based custom (thats my 270 wsm in fact) and even a Winchester in .243... Year after year I go back to my Remingtons though and I think they are the best. In all actuality, all you really need at 100 yards is a one inch group, and the rifle needs to hold that group out to your intended distance. If your rifle will shoot MOA consistantly at any distance, you are golden. Plus, if you decided to upgrade parts (barrel, stock, bottom metal, trigger) every body in the world knows how to A. Get ahold of Remington parts and B. MOST gun smiths have vast experience with Remington rifles. If, by chance you do get a lemon and are having a hard time getting it to shoot, send it to me and I will develop a load. Also, getting it rebarreled isnt that expensive (althought I know you are trying to stay away from that.)
