Once served my mountain lion at a CWT get together... everybody snickered at eating a "feline"... they changed their tune after eating it. Huntingfool has made some of his world famous bobcat tacos for me and they were quite tasty... I was hesitant at first, but it was good stuff. However, I DID draw the line at eating coyote. That is something I wouldnt do.

Sweet bull!!!

Ernesto, I have one of each. I had my .257 made because I wanted it, not because I needed it. I am comfortable with them both out past 500, but since the .257 is the newer gun, thats what I carry but I would be comfortable with either one of them.

I am speaking of experience here... The 270wsm is a wonderful round to carry for wt, elk etc. You can load light and shoot a 110 TTSX, or go up to 160's for what ever reason. The 140 Accubond of the 140 TTSX is the cats meow, and pushed at 3200-3300 FPS is just as good as any other round out there. Trust me on this one. It hits hard and puts stuff down quick.

I am not much of a wing shooter, but I would be interested. -
Yet another reason shoulda gone with a Remington!

H4831sc(about 61.5-63.5 grains... My sweet spot is 62.5-63.5), 140 Accubond, and Federal 215 Gold Medal Match primers. Thank me later.

I have owned a dozen or more Remgington 700's in all different calibers from 22-250 to 7RUM. The fact of the matter is you can get a lemon in any rifle, any caliber. I personally believe the Remington is, and always has been the best production rifle there is. Now, thats not to say that I dont buy other rifles... I do and/or have owned a couple of Kimbers, still own a Mauser based custom (thats my 270 wsm in fact) and even a Winchester in .243... Year after year I go back to my Remingtons though and I think they are the best. In all actuality, all you really need at 100 yards is a one inch group, and the rifle needs to hold that group out to your intended distance. If your rifle will shoot MOA consistantly at any distance, you are golden. Plus, if you decided to upgrade parts (barrel, stock, bottom metal, trigger) every body in the world knows how to A. Get ahold of Remington parts and B. MOST gun smiths have vast experience with Remington rifles. If, by chance you do get a lemon and are having a hard time getting it to shoot, send it to me and I will develop a load. Also, getting it rebarreled isnt that expensive (althought I know you are trying to stay away from that.)

Remington 700, no question about it. Cant beat the .270 wsm. I love mine and can give you plenty of load advice if you need it.

I am thinking this is probably a hoax... beware. $500 for a Leica spotting scope? Thats like getting Swaro binos for $500.... I know you guys have heard the "If its too good to be true..."

1st ever CouesWhitetail.com Bass Tournament!
firstcoueswas80 replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Fishing
My dad and I still plan on being there. -
Yeah, I dont like it either when a nice piece of wood gets scratched or a ding in the metal of my nice hunting rifle or shotgun. Handguns (minus my Kimber .45) I dont mind too much as I feel they are made to see work and gins. You can barely tell my XD was ever black on top.

Nick, I could use that case if you wanna sell it on its own.

Being matched, that could just be his genetics...

Looks good. That buck almost has too much muscle in him though... Never seen a buck with that much shoulder muscle, but it looks nice. Lets see some of your kittys

I am betting Ruger.... Probably something like .270?

Brian, its gonna be a .270 wby

I didn't know you went that way Casey. Going to have to think twice about ever sharing a camp with you. I'm just not into squealing pigs. No squealin... He just makes purty music with his banjo! Save up and replace the Kimber...
-
Lark, You mean to tell me you can actually feel recoil? HelI I thought you were way too tough to feel any recoil. Guess I have to find a new super hero. You are still my favorite banjo player though

Very funny Jim you SOB!!! And, for the record I think I could make that shot with out hitting him in the head! AND I shot everything in Africa, not a single head shot!
