Well, Josh... You would be proud... First stand this morning, 6 minutes in. This big old female came in to DSG Cottontail! I was standing up next to a mesquite, looked to the right, then looked back left and this cat was standing about 10 feet from the call at about 30 yards. The wind was blowing from my left to right. She came in on the left side, with the wind on her back. I raised my 870, and sent 3" #4 buck down range and knocked her straight down! To say I was pumped is a understatement! Pretty good size female!

Talk about a buck with SERIOUS character! That would be awesome! I have never heard, or dreamt about a buck like that!

Guys, I bought about 150 +/- 40 grain Vmax to run out of my AR for coyotes. I have decided I am going to run something in the 50 or 55 grain mix to hit a little harder. I have some 50 NBT's lookin to see if someone has anything to trade. Possibly BTHP's? Maybe some 50 or 55 Vmax? Let me know! Casey Ps, I would sell these outright.

Scott and I had a GREAT day today! We burned a trail down south, hunted a real easy draw for a few birds. We aimed at getting the slam today, so set our goal 3-4 Mearns a piece. Well, 1 hour of hunting, and 1 hour of walking back to the truck and Scott's dogs had found 4 coveys, 8 dead birds (4 a piece), and only 10 shells fired! Great dog work, and above average shooting was the ticket today! A little side note: Both, Scott and I doubled on different coveys today. It was a really really good day!

Where is Mel's buck? Was that a typo, or was he really shooting 230 grain bullet from the wsm, or a 130? Nicely done! Great write up! What bullets was Weston using, becaseu 5 shots in a whitetail makes me think the bullets werent doing their job, especially with that neck shot!

Bill, keep in mind that not everyone is a professional write. Also, this is a site where many people here have familes and/or busy lives where posts might have to be made in great haste. This is also a casual site, full of every day Joe Schmo's (Jim the Plumber, if you will). It is not a educational site (it is, but not meant solely for that purpose), or a extremly formal site. If "slang" can not be used here, then where can it be used?

Ill buy it for you if you give me that 660, and another gun or two guys, this is a sweet rig. Gabe actually bought the scope and the rifle semi through me. He was wanting a new gun at the time, and I found (I think the scope to), the rifle for him, and then put the scope etc. It is a good shootin rig, and has been very well taken care of. Worth the $950 for sure!

Give mine a few months, and he will be ready to go. He is pretty young right now, but a AKC Yellow lab.
