    TIKKA LITE your take?

As I read it, the man said he got a 1.5" group at 300 yds. Not bad for a cheap gun. Incidentally, I have one in .270 and I think it's a great gun at any price. Jack Guess I need to learn how to read?! Actually, I think he might have changed that as I think I read that twice...

    Ethics

IMO, if you honestly bust your Arse to find the animal and are unsuccesful then I feel that you should hunt on. It happens, but I think it should be reported.

    Almost a windy day dog!

Yesterday and today started out pretty nasty. Had plans to call both days, but they got cancelled because it was rainy and windy. Well, about 1030 I decided it was a nice day to call! (at my house anyways) Made the 22 mile drive, and was in coyote country! As soon as I opened the door, I was greeted by a steady 10-15 mph wind. Great. Well, I ended up setting up with the wind as a cross wind. I really didnt expect anything to come in as I was less than 300 yards from a fairly high traveled highway. About 7 minutes in I see a coyote haulin arse in! Sweet! I can tell this dog is coming in seriously, but decided not to switch from my Kimber, 22-250 to my 870 12 guage... Mistake! I had the coyote in my cross hairs at about 20 yards (max) I yipped at him, but he wouldnt stop. He then made his way around to my left and got in my scent trail and took off. I never saw him again! Man, was that a good increase of the pulse!

    Almost a windy day dog!

Josh, I had them both. I carry both on every stand. It is always hard to decided which to have in hand though! I would assume you saw the post on PM.com talking exactly what you brought up....

    Southern units and safety

Of course there are illegals down there. I had one walk behind camp ( I think). I never saw any out there walking around. Best you can do is carry a side arm. I know some people carry a side arm with the magazine in it, but not one in the pipe. Carry your side arm ready to roll and keep your wits about you.

    Almost a windy day dog!

I actually started out with the shotgun too. Made my first set, then switched to the rifle. Wish I wouldnt have! It was a moral victory calling one in with how bad the wind was! Oh well. I will get some more this weekend!

    TIKKA LITE your take?

From everything I have read, the Tikka is a heck of a gun. Personally, I dont like the feel but what do I know. I would try some different ammo, the Tikka should probably do better than 1.5" at 100 yards. ( or so I have been told!)

    Guess I'll start....

Awesome! What .257 caliber gun was he shooting?

    Are you kidding me?

You mean on top of that mountain, in the sunny side under the shade of that mesquite tree where that big SOB used to hang out?
