Got 'Chupacabraed'
firstcoueswas80 replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
I had a feeling you would bring that up. SO... I'm 1-0 on coyotes big deal. Coues, 2 shots 2 deer thats what realy matters isn't it? That rifle of mine has only missed once and thats when my bro shot it for the first time but he didn't mis the second shot. I think the realy issue that needs to be discused is how many times have we have been out calling and how many times have you had first crack at the coyotes? And didn't I get you the Arizona grand slam of quail? Just playing with you casey. No, YOU did not get me the slam. You and your perros put me on the birds, my Franchi and I completed it! You are 0-1 on coyotes. I get the first crack cuase I call 'em in! I told you to shoot the last one I shot! But nooooo, you wouldnt take a 800 yard shot at a moving coyote... Thats YOUR fault! HAhaha! All it means is we will have to go out and do it again! -

O' SNAP!!! Truth hurts sometimes don't it? Mike, do we need to get into bullets shot? Remeber that coyote, sitting there at 225 that you shot at? Kevin, I do not. I want a caliber hole in, 1/2" out. Have had great success with the accubond on that. But, I am going to try these. If they do not exit, like some say and the animal drops dead, they they are going to be hard to beat! -

Hey pal, the day you harvest something with the first shot.............that day I'll buy you lunch! Ernesto C I killed my lion with one shot!!! So, you owe lunch! Kevin, figured what the heck, might as well try em, see what happens. If they blow a big nasty hole, then I wont use them again. -

Who cares, she looks great! And I aint gonna eat her...

It's worth a lot more than that...you'll have to do better. I will load it, and load it correctly so you actually kill that 115" this year! Ya know, accurate powder charges, seating depth all the same, same primers... Stuff like that
-
Larry, I will load your .300 WSM rounds for you......

Rifle Range Commandos

You ever tried to hit a moving bobcat from a knee? Not exactly the best/biggest target. -
Im game for participating in the rematch. Congrats on the Goulds hunt! That is pretty awesome!

Rifle Range Commandos

Redman, I have one on my .257 wby as well. It seems to work well. I shot a 2.37" group at 300 yards with it on. I also hit a grapfruit rock two times in a row at 518 last night. Seems to work well for $10 +/- -

Know any good doctors who can remove it? -

firstcoueswas80 replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
That big tom had a rather nice coat. The .257 with the 115 VLD left a nice hole in him, but nothing that cant be fixed. Scottyboy and I will be treating him, and sending him to the tannery. I can not afford a life size mount like I would like to do (roughly $1500-$1700). If any one wants to donate, I do accept Paypal -

Like Doug, on the past hunt I was on I saw more does and fawns than I should have. In 5 days, we saw approximately 85-90 deer. Only 6 of those were bucks. 3 of the bucks were 82-88" (guess) and the other three were (1) small 3x3 and (2) Forks. Seems like there could be less hunters to let more bucks grow up a little. -
That would be me. I know John really well. One of my dads best friends. Looks like you guys have killed some nice bucks. Does 'Topher still hunt with Wally?
-
I got to looking through my pictures, and I forgot about this cat I called for a bud. He came out of a brushy draw right around the 25 minute mark. Another one came out as well, but I missed it ( I assume it was a her as this one was a large male) at about 225 running after my buds 15 yard shot.

Tell him my last name is Charter... He will know. I have actually hunted with him once before.

Brian, A couple of terrific posts! I learned something!

Like Redrabbit said, Mtn. Lion meat is some of the finest wild game I have ever had. Plus, THIS is why we shoot lions. http://forums.coueswhitetail.com/forums/in...mp;#entry125707 Imagine if that is the 110" buck you have scouted out all sumer long. You know when and where he beds, when and where he waters and when and where he feeds. All of your hard work gone to chit because of a dam lion!
-
Whats ole 'Topher up to?! Nice buck, love how he carries mass!
-
Because the hunter being the hunted is a freakin blast! And you dont carry a lion tag, you glassed one up and just watched it?!?! Are you nuts?!?!?!?! you just gave that lion +/- a deer a week for the rest of its life!
