Sam Moore Anybody??
firstcoueswas80 replied to cjw2222's topic in Hunting and Outdoors-related books
Depends on company a bit? Depends on company ALOT! Hes awesome but good lord can he be offensive! Ha! -
I think mine is a Browning. It is plenty bright, and has two settings. Tyson (SBD) and I were hiking out in the dark the other night and he was in the lead. The lamp produced enough light that he was able to see clearly 5 yards in front of me. I think it was about $20 or so. Saved AzPacknHorns and mine buts last year in October!

Marty Robbins is one of my all time favorites! On my Sirius satelite radio, if he comes up as an "artist alert" I switch to the channel he is on no matter what. Ac/Dc, Distubred, Garth, Brooks and Dunn, it doesnt matter. Marty gets the nod! I am going to make a cd with his best and that will be our camp music this fall. -
Long Sleeve Shirts are in!!
firstcoueswas80 replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in CouesWhitetail.com Store
Just ordered mine! AzpackNhorns and I will be sporting our matching shirts this November! Woohoo! -
IF your ordering boots for this year, you better get them now! Gotta break them in! I though my boots were broke in when I killed my lion... The first 2 miles to the lion, they felt fine! The 5 miles from where I killed him back to camp were not fun at all!!!!!! Boots not being properly broke in are no fun at all!

Remington makes a factory load in the Scirocco (great bullet, high BC)... I forget what weight it is, either 150 or 180. good choice right there -

I have never even fathomed leaving a gun, but one of my favorite skinning knives is laying in a drainage in a canyon. I know exactly where it is. Glassed up a buck, set my pack down to range him, ranged him put the range finder back in the pack and off I went. Knife is laying right there. -

If you run a 9x9 dome tent, you have room for a cot. -

That is awesome! My dad is the fisherman in the family, and ever since I was a little boy watching fishing shows on TV I have wanted to go after the peacock bass! Did you eat any of them?

Witnessed an Attempted Murder

That one coyote wont be tearing up any other fawns. Had me going! Nicely done. Would have been hard for me to not end the fawns suffering... -
Witnessed an Attempted Murder
firstcoueswas80 replied to Red Rabbit's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
I hope this is a clever way to say that you saw a pair of coyotes trying to attack a deer, but you were able to get one..... -
I usually do like everyone else does... Take a nap on the hill. If I am in a spot in the morning, I dont usually hunt it in the evening. So, naturally I will either go back to the truck or to camp right before I go to where I want to be for the evening hunt. Truck or camp, I will stay there just long enough to drink two or three bottles of water, refill my water bladder if need be, and lunch then head back to where I want to be. My goal in the evening is not to see any deer what so ever for about an hour(unless kicked up, etc), then all of a sudden start seeing deer. The reason behind this is it tells me I most likely am setting up to glas with plenty of time to spare before the "prime" time.

Badlands 2800???
firstcoueswas80 replied to coueschaser3's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I would take it to a seamstress and tell him/her what you want done. Should be cheap, quick, and easy! -
If you are reloading for the 130 BT, back of 3 grains from max, and work up until you find your max. The TSX is supposed to be able to run at higher pressure with out pressure signs (hence, allowing for more powder and speed). That is the design behind the grooves in the bullet.

Very nice! I would break my .257 wby in on that buck as well! Very nicely done!
