Who’s ready for some quail!!!!
firstcoueswas80 replied to IHunt2live's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Dude, I am ready! Get the dogs ready! Scottyboy, you wouldnt happen to be ready for quail (mears) season, would ya? -
Keep in mind, they use cirlces instead of dots... (less accurate). From what I have read, the circles are about 2 MOA.... Someone correct me if my math is wrong (which is very possible) but at 500 yards, 2 MOA means that the circle has 10 inches inside of it. If you shoot a 1 MOA group at 500 yards that is a 5 inch group... That adds up to 3 MOA that the bullet could hit within, and that is 15 inches.... I dont know if that makes sense, but it makes sense in my twisted mind.

CONCERNS WITH COUESWHITETAIL.COM
firstcoueswas80 replied to tjhunt2's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
In my opnion, most of the "trouble making" (and yes, I have done more than my share) is done in the off season when people get restless! It can get boring logging on during the off season when there is nothing going on, so some are easily tempted to stir the pot (Guilty). My $.02 -
Dang, that is a big job right there! Party at Brents, and hes buying the "soda"

If thats what the secret to life, then my dad and I will live forever! -
Rookie, I have hunted 36b for years (about 8 or 9) Alot of the areas that I hunt, I have been showed by other people who have hunted there for much longer than I have. I made the mistake of publicly saying one of the areas and it dang near cost me some long time friendships. Forgive us if we do not jump at the chance to offer up "where the deer are." Like has been said, take some time and learn the unit. It is a VERY large unit with ALOT of deer. Take Redneck for example, the day that he was scouting, he stumbled into me in one of my good areas. It can be that easy sometimes. If you take the time to sit behind some binos you WILL find some deer. PS, calling out a high standing member like RedRabbit is NOT a good way to get info!

Mike, isnt that buck across the road in 34a?

Chris, I cut him up the gut nice and clean. I then pinned every 4" to a 2x6 and covered in Alum and Epsom salt. Gonna go on the "wall of fame".

When I had my elk hunt in 7e a couple of years ago, I camped on 151E ( a road that branches off of 151) and it was very very nice. I was using the natural restroom about 50 yards outside of camp and had several mule deer feeding within 50 yards until the wind switched. Lots of very nice places to camp out. 151E connects 151 and Hart Prarie road to each other.

Best spotting scope for 500$ any advice
firstcoueswas80 replied to wbyfireman's topic in Optics and tripods
I bought the Cabelas Alaskan Guide series spotter that was for sale on the forum. It is no Swarovski or Leica, but it is not bad. At 20-40x it is very very nice. When I crank it up to 60x is where I can notice the difference from the top name spotters. But for the $225 that I paid for it, I am pleased!!!
