I have the Leica 900... It work fantastic. Lark, if youre not too proud to use a used one, they can be had for a decent price used. I think I paid something like $220 from a member on this board.

IMO, I put in for the hunts I want and dont really pay too much attention to the bogus point system... hence the name.

That last ram is a heck of a stud ram! -
IMO, I dont think there are many broadheads period that will reliably go through the shoulder blade of anything much more than a javelina. I do not believe broadheads, or bow and arrows are designed to penetrate shoulder blade, or any tough bone. If I think I am going to need to penetrate any bone, there is no way in my mind that I am shooting ANY mechanical broadhead. I was shooting today, and the Wac'ems were flying absolutely perfect. I shot out to 50 yards and they shot at the same POI, and the arrows flew the same. I am impressed with these broadheads.. They have always flown awesome, but I am yet to stick anything with them.. Hopefully I change that here in about 3 weeks!

firstcoueswas80 replied to firstcoueswas80's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
They are quite a bit better than the first time I went out. I actually had one other group that printed .6.. It was the two in one hole, the third 1/2" off. I am pleased. -

Only thing about trying all those different powders is that gets $$$$... What I do, is pick a bullet/powder combo that looks appealing... (by appealing I mean the powder that produces the highest velocity, with the least amount of powder.) Then I take the bullet and powder charge and mess with different lenghts. Example: Started my .257 wby with the 100 TSX at 3.200" with H1000... Didnt really like the results. So I took the 3 mid-upper loads (no pressure signs) and changed the depths by .010... Looks like my gun likes it a little bit longer.. 3.210" produced 2 sub inch groups. From here, I will add .010 more and try and find the exact sweet spot. Gun has exactly 53 rounds down the tube and I have an acceptable load ready to go, but I will fine tune it to see if I can get it even better. Another thing that can be done if all else fails. Change primers.

That thing is amazing! Amazing mount for an amazing deer!

Last year, I put a guy on a small racked, big bodied 3x3 muley. 90 grain 4 blade Muzzy blew through him and made him bleed like a freakin siv! 32 yard shot, the buck went 30 yards... Maybe you guys remember the pic that I posted?? I stuck a pig at 22 yds with a 3 blade 100 gr muzzy blew through him like nothing. My verdict is that Rage would be decent on deer, and pigs. Prolly wouldnt use them on Muleys, or elk. Cant beat s fixed blade for the big stuff. I have never stuck anything with the Wac'ems but they fly great. I will have them on the end of my arrows come opening day of archery deer.

Name this snake!!

If I'm out scouting and they show aggression towards me is the only time I hammer them. If they slither away, I call it good. After saying that, I have only had a "bad" run in with one.
