    Makin' Jerky

after eating all the stuff(especially the guacamole dip!) Chef made at the Tucson get together I would definatly try any recipe he had. Again, Wade hit it on the head! Chef, your Salsa Bandera was fantastic (Pico de Gallo)

    Leftover Switch

yeah, they changed that a while back TJ.if you look it up in the regs it says 1 per calender year now with the 1 exception being the big game raffle and auction tags. Yep. Wade is spot on.

    New coues gun

Yeah, hand loads all the way. Gun has only seen 3 shots of factory ammo, and that was by the smith to make sure it would safely go bang!

    fact or fiction?

Absolutely. Buck like that gets it from me. I love how unique he is. I would hang him from my wall with pride!

    San Carlos Javelina Hunt 2008

Very good adventure. I hate getting stuck, especially in weather like that! Nice to hear the "customer service" of the ranger et al.

    Vortex 15x's comments anyone?

I have never looked through the 15x Vortex, but I have looked through their "top of the line" binos. After reading all the hype, I was extremly disapointed in them. I though a 8x set would have been nice for archery hunting, but after looking through them I decided they werent worth it.

    fact or fiction?

In my mind, I see a extremly old buck dying with a heavy, heavy 2x2 w/ eyeguards. Semi tall, semi wide, but with heavy horns and massive bases with a lot of stickers right around the burr. I would LOVE to have the exact deer I just described hanging on my wall!

    Outdoor fears Part 2

Take Ted Bundy for example... College educated, law student... yet one of the most prolific murderes this country has ever known!

    Outdoor fears Part 2

Other people freak me out. I always have the means with me to stop a moderate threat (handgun, or rifle, or both!) But it doesnt put my heart to 100% rest at all. I always keep my eyes peeled for the unknown.

    Leftover Switch

Negative on both accounts. the hunt swap is pretty much Person A. takes person B on a quail hunt... Person B takes person A on a rabbit hunt.

    New coues gun

Decided that since tha Shilen barrels are hand lapped, that they come broken in. I did run dry patches/patches with Hoppes through it every 5-6 shots or so to soak up the unburnt powder. Even at the end of the day, when I took the nylon brush and Sweets 7.62, I was surprised at how small amount of copper fouling there was in the barrel from the TSX's. Larry, I am STILL pulling blue patches out of the WSM. (Finally took a nylon brush to it as well.)

    New coues gun

Well, Larry and I just got back from the range... The goatsucker showed potential, but nothing stellar today. All groups hovered around 1.5 inches today. I had two groups where 2 were touching, and I pulled the 3rd shot! ... I am gonna mess with the lenghts and go back out and shoot tomorrow... On the other hand, my 270 wsm printed 3 touching, and the javelina and turkeys were in trouble out to 550!... Hard to think about that as a BACKUP gun!

    best gun?????

Have you felt the trigger on the Triumph? It is extremly nice! Also, it has the advanced coating called "Weathershield", is lighter and it fits me like a glove. I sold quite a few of them when I worked at Sportsmans Warehouse.

Sorry, I feel the need to brag!!

Larry and I usually agree on scope choices... Im gonna take a guess that he will put a 4.5-14x Zeiss Conquest on top of it.. Could be wrong though!
