    Lets See your Loading Bench

Mike, you dont need other sites! Between doug and my self we have ALL the answers I am cleaning my room right now (as i type ) and when I am done I will go take a pic of mine. One thing to keep in mind is to re-enforce where your press will be. you will be putting a good bit of pressure on it when re-sizing, and popping primers and if the wood is weak, it will break around the bolts.

    Coues Buck Contest

TJ, you have a lot of good points here, but this one I dont think falls under that category "nothing personal" We all know that just because you have a buck scouted out, it isnt a slam dunk! You still gotta find him, close the gap, and the client still has to make the shot. nothing in that seems to be a cake walk to me..... However, I do think that is a good idea, but not because hiring a guide makes it a slam dunk! Crazy$coues, Idea number 2 is the best one metioned so far!
  6. OUCH!!!! Ps, I prefer DHL
  7. Well 600 does sound alot more like it! I even went back and asked again from my sources if the numbers they told me were true and they stood by what they said...........It just goes to show that even within the Dept. they don't know the truth about it. Who knows for sure......but regardless, it still sounds like it was a great year to be a NON-resident applying for an early rifle bull tag And to be one of the top Elk guides in the state who guided two hunters to 400+ bulls last year.... My resume is in the mail!

    New Member seeks advice

Buy : 1-+15x50 Leica duovids, a good tripod adapter, and a good tripod ( all can be found on this site). a flat shooting, hard hitting caliber. my two favorites are 270wsm and 7RUM Learn : Patience. Sit behind the binos looking for movement, and parts of a deer. how to judge a good buck from a small buck. Have: A blast, as not many people get to do that!

    Anyone want to go?!

Well, we went out and gave it our all. On one stand ( of course the one stand Larry forgot his shooting tripod) I called a coyote in 30 yards from him. as he was trying to raise his gun, the dog took of running. Larry followed him through the trees and when he cleared out and slowed to a walk, Larry let one rip. Before he said anyting to me,I told him I heard the "whop" of the bullet hitting home. He agreed but stated the dog ran off. We went and looked for blood and couldnt find any, but are both convinced that he is dead! Reminds me of the cleint I helped Jim on.. shot the dog at 450 yards, saw the dog start rolling over, climbed the mountain ( after he whacked that 101"er) and couldnt find the dog, or blood!

    New To Me

Yeeah it prolly was a light load... the guns that I have that like to "run fast" when working up a load, they didnt seem to shoot well at a low to mid loads (22-250, 270 wsm, 7 RUM) but when I got into the upper level of the loads, they seemed to tighten up nicely. Yesterday I was busting elk size kill zone rocks at 720 yards with my 270wsm. was shooting at rocks the size of a deers head (which we all know I am good at hitting that!) at 510 and it seemed "easy"

    Long range rifles?

If you find the right gunsmith it is much cheaper and just as effective to work on your stock trigger.... atleast it was on my Weatherby. I like it better than my buddy's Timney Trigger.... I have had that trigger "lightened-up" twice now and only have about half the cost of a Timney invested. Just my $.02! CnS Ginos right, I have never felt the need to replace any of my factory triggers. My 270 wsm does sport a Bold trigger.
