    Javelina and Mountain Lions

Make sure to pack a gun for that lion as well! I kille my lion on a Javelina hunt, the day after I killed my pig. Killed the pig with my .223, ran back to the truck and got my 270 to kill the lion! Good thing that .270 followed me from home to camp.

2008 Mexico Coues and Muley pic's....

I was just thinking how big those ears looked on your coues Casey, or is it just me? That bobcat has a realy gray coat to. The one I shot this time of year here in AZ was a lot more brown... of course it was a young cat. Great job to you all and it looks like you had boat loads of fun! Ya know, we didnt even measure the ears of my buck! We actually thought that he was older than the 90" buck, so i would assume they would be about the same size! All of us at camp loved the color of that cat! Jim immediatly stated how gray it was compared to a Az cat. Shame to have to leave it in Mexico! I was pretty bummed about that!

    Anyone else have this happen?!

You only carry 3 arrows?!?!?! You carry more than 10 bullets don't ya? I carry at the least 5 and if my quiver held more I'd pack that sucker full. What would happen if you stuck a deer in a fairly bad place and he bedded down? Then you stalk up on him and fire the last 2 arrows into the rocks and it looks as if he's gonna live for another 12+ hours. Then what? You'd sure as crap be wishin you had more arrows right? I've never taken a hunter out that didn't have at least 5 or 6 and NEVER will I EVER take a muzzleloader hunter into the woods if he doesn't have at least 6-8 shots on him or a rifle hunter with an ENTIRE box of shells. I've seen that scenario happen one more time than I'd like to have seen in my several years as a guide. That stuff gets U.G.L.Y and an animal doesn't deserve to just lay there and die a nasty death. I'm not harping on you Casey, I just hate to see yourself get in a situation that an ethical hunter, like yourself, doesn't want to be in. Josh, buy me another dozen arrows, the wraps, vanes and broad heads as well as another quiver, and i will pack them... Bow only holds 3... XD-40 holds 12, I carry two of those magazines

I would arrow a forky in a heart beat given the chance. The only reason I didnt stalk him was it didnt occur to me until it was too late how perfect of a stalk it would have been!
  12. He has enough bullets to be me for sure, but my but is WAY bigger than that guys, and i am taller.

    Anyone else have this happen?!

Amanda, the only one that i could have probably killed was a forky. I didnt realize how good of a stalk it could have been until it was too late. The BIG buck had me pinned when i glassed him up, and the stalk would have been straigh up hill wish him and his 6 girl friends having me pinned. the rest of the bucks were chasin does. The fork was glassed on a flat spot on a ridge. Once I realized how the stalk should have gone, i realzed i should have gone butt soon as i spotted him bedded.Like i said, he was on the flat spot and i would have had cover all the way until the last ledge that the flat spot started on. when i would have ran out of cover, i would have been at about 40 yards from him. Mark that up to a lesson learned!

You can't kill a big one-

You passed a 43 yard shot at that bugger?! holy cow man! I glassed the biggest buck I ever personally glassed up today. if he was an inche, he was 110+. I would have gone after him but it was about a 450 yards stock, straight up and him and his 6 does were already looking my direction! bummer!
