Shoot groups of three. if a load shows promise ( it shoots under 1" for 3 shots) load up groups of 5 going half a grain above and below that group. which ever of the 3 (above, dead on, and below) shoots the best.. load up 5 more and make sure the results duplicate. If they do, then you have a winner!

After having a basic understanding of how to reload, Doug (redrabbit) tought me the finer aspects of handloading. Now, I do not shoot factory loads out of any of my main hunting rifles (just my back up 270, I couldnt approve on its accuracy if I tried). With my 270WSM i push a 140 Accubond at 3150 fps with 63.5 grains of H4831sc. My dads 7RUM pushes a 140 accubond with 86.5 grains of H4831sc. We get 1/2" or better accuracy with each of these loads and they have both laid the smack down on some coues, and will hopefully do so to some nice bucks this coming December!

So now that you said 10+ bass, dad wants to go for sure!

thats how it happened for me! first was a 3x3 ( mine and yours look like twins, yours has a tad more mass) and then a 3x2, then a spike then a fork... so if the trend holds up i should be back to a 3x3 this year right?! congrats! who did the work on your first buck?!

Guys, let me post this before Scott posts his story: we hads plans for about a week or so to camp together. Well I get to camp and set up about 1130, after a morning of hunting, and then leave to go back out as soon as we are done setting up. Well, I get home about 730 pm that night. My dad is there and thats it! Turns out Scott tags his buck, and leaves me a letter! He later tells me he drove back to Kalifournea. Turns out he missed his girlfriend!!!Can you guys believe that! He left coues camp to go back to his girlfriend!!! LAME, yet congrats!

bill, I know of a certain buck or bull that was offered over what scottyboy said Milos buck went for.... so, yes a goldmine is dreamable! i will let you guys know what i do with the number 2 buck in the world this december when I kill him ( im thinking 141 3/8 net)
