    Whats the Weirdest?

I have seen the javelina, doe buddy buddy system the coolest thing that ever happened to me was my dad and i were hoofin it up a mtn one day scouting for deer.. well we got about 3/4 of the way up and had to stop for a breather... we heard what sounded like something running behind us so we turned around to see what it was... a nice 3x3 about 70+ inches was being chased by a coyote!!! the deer ran within about 15 yards of me and turned around. i was like 15 so of course i didnt have a gun with me. both the deer and the coyote looked like they were about to die from all the running!

    Minox 15x58's For Sale

Minox would have been great on Linnea's Hunt No one had time to put any glass on that Bull before he hit the ground Maybe I will put my Swaros up for sale and buy some Bushnells to hang around my neck just to have some Binos to look at the Game laying on the ground before I hike over to it Mike What you really needed was some Leica glass, but of course we know how that went!

    What's in your Hunting Daypack?

I usually am hunting alone, so will be prepared to spend the night out or ready for some minor injury. I have had the barrel plugged with mud when the rifle slipped of the shoulder, hence the aluminum rod. The raingear is weather dependent. Have had a sharp seed in the eye, hence the mirror. the 2.5 readers are since I cannot see close well; wish i had that 20/15 vision of my youth again. Trash compactor bag is great for putting deer quarters in and keep your gear blood free. Usually do not have the small sharpening stone except on an elk hunt. The electrical tape is good for keeping raim, snow, twigs, etc out of the barrel. Wish I had it taped when it went muzzle first in to the mud on an elk hunt as I lost half a day going back to camp to get to the cleaning kit and recheck the zero. Latex gloves for skinning; good friend got a nasty infection from skinning/gutting a bear once with a small cut on his hand. Must be the Boy Scout in me still: Be Prepared. I do not want to be the hunter you read about who left camp with just a Snickers bar and a knife, and got lost.Doug~RR Thats how I grew up hunting then dad and I found out how to hunt.
