Bowtech: Allegiance or Tribute?
firstcoueswas80 replied to archeryasu's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Mathews Drenalin. -
i m really leaning towards the leicas as i would be getting two pairs of binos. i can only afford one pair, and it sure would be nice to have 10x for archery or close quarters hunting.
-
Hate to say it Scott, but Jimbo is right! when out client killed that buck, i couldnt find my Zeiss' so i grabbed his 8.5's (he had his 15's ) and watched the buck fall through those and they were awesome! From Gr8fuldoug, both pairs come with a tripod adapter. the leicas come with a 10 year warranty. i am leaning that way and am going to compare the leicas and swaros side by side in low light on sunday. this will determine what i buy. i have a line on some leicas for $300 under demo cost! if i can get those i will get those no matter what!
-
if i get leicas they are gonna be at demo price which is $150 cheaper then the swaros. i dont think .4 mm will make any difference of the exit pupil. call me crazy but thats what i think. cant afford swaros and nikons.. i cant afford either pair, i have to get a new credit card or sell some guns to be able to get them!
-
i have used both of them. i know the swaros fit me, but i need to spend som emore time behind the Leicas.

i have always read about 1000 lbs is what ya want.... if i recall, most modern calibers were 100-200 lbs over that at 500 yards. -
I use Sweets as well. when i do use the sweets ESPECIALLY with my kimber 22-250, i put a shirt over the but stock cause if that stuff gets on the wood it will strip the finish right off! trust me! happened to Doug and I when we were breaking in the barrel of my 22-250! one thing to remember, you dont want to leave the copper remover in too long or it will take ur barrel down to bare metal which will change your point of impact. ususally, i will run butches bore shine for powder and such, then sweets for copper fouling. after i have cleaned all or most of the sweets out with dry patches, i will run a few patches soaked with Hoppe's to neutralize the stuff so it doesnt do any damage to my barrel.
