Glassed up a group of 8 whitetail yesterday from about 1.5 miles or more away. couldnt put antlers on any of them but one deer was for sure a buck as he had his nose to the ground and was chasing a few deer. had a coyote stand 240 yards away from me for 5 minutes, go figure, i only had my pistol and buddy had his bow! what i would have given to have my kimber 22-250!

Jim, if you need i can go down with my grandpa and we can take a look at it and prolly get it back to my house. let me know when you go get it and i will go with you.

Great buck! bad shooting, but good buck lol! great job Josh!!! Josh, Great story, If you were shooting a gun I'd wonder if you been taking shooting leassons from Casey? Casey, Purely for comedic value.... Nice Buck for sure! Congrats Happy New Year! this is correct, but what is a shooting leasson?

Nice job Brian... too bad you had to pacl that buck out by urself.... bet you could have used a 21 year old kid to pack it out huh?
-
if we put antler restrictions on, i wont be able to shoot any bucks!!! plus, in all honesty, i think the people that are more tha casual deer hunter and not the glass em up with $1,800 binoculars and shoot them with $3,000 rifles would not abid by that anyway.

First Coues for George!
firstcoueswas80 replied to COOSEFAN's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Man i had a blast guiding for Jim! we had terrible weather most of the time but man o man did i have a blast! that video of George's buck is awesome! i cant wait to do it again! Jim, let me know when you go pig hunting, ill have the time to go out and pack that big ole pig you called dibbs on out for you, wouldnt wanna have you break a sweat my favorite part was right before Bret, Jerry and myself left to go after Jerrys buck i looked at you and called dibbs on packing out the buck. the look on your face and your response was great "(with a man your crazy look on your face) its all yours" hahah good stuff! -
man, i have never been on or guided a coues hunt where it was as simple as saying "shoot that one" must not be guiding with/for the right people cause my hunts have never ever been that easy. i do agree that some hunts are like that, but thats on species that are either more predictable or because of a guide who scouted his butt off and knew where the animal would be, isnt that a big part of hunting?

i was in Sportsmans Warehouse last night getting my bow set up ( got the Mathews Q2 had to move the peep up quite a bit.) the guy there was very very helpful. he set my peep, cut arrows for me, shot my bow for speed, told me how to set my inserts correct and we chatted about hunting. it was great! he didnt charge me for any labor and was very knowledgeable!

nice buck tyler! good job!
-
they werent ringing, but i could tell for sure that he had a brake on the rifle ( a little sarcaism in my first post)
-
hearing loss will come from a rifle with no brake also just as easily the amount of damage from a non-braked rifle does not even compare to the damage of a braked rifle. thats like apples to oranges. i have shot with Doug when he shot a friends 7mag with a brake, and with ear plugs and mufss standing 10 yards behind doug my ears still rang. when i shot my lion, my buddy had a brake on his 7WSM and he was 314 yards from me shooting at the second lion. from that distance my ears still hurt after his 4 shots. to me, it is not worth it!

Ditto to all! im heading out shortly to 36b to go guide! good luck all!!
