man ernesto you have a good memory! yeah she was a blonde and yeah she did cut me off. sorry my typings not 100%, sometimes ya gotta think after i type cause i leave words out. on the final morning of the november hunt in 2003, i harvested my first coues whitetail, he gross scored 85" and was shot in the flats where i would not usually hunt.

my buck grossed 85 and he had no where the lenght that that buck had. my buck has the same about of mass but a wider spread.

This is my cousins buck, he got lucky and smoked him at 420 yards opening morning with is 6.5x55 k, pictures didnt work, i have sent them to Christian to post for me
-
very nice buck, very tall and massive. whats the story?
-
this is the story as my cousin told me: the unit is 34a. him and his dad crossed a fence, right when they crossed the fence, they spotted a forky. my uncle asked my cousin if he wants to shoot and he says no. they look around for another deer and find this buck. my cousin runs to the nearest tree and guesses the distance. he made a gorgous shot and the deer ran 10 feet and died. he hit the buck right in the heart with his 6.5x55. no idea on the score, but im thinking right around 95".... either way a heck of a buck. this is his 2nd buck. his first is a beautiful buck with a small 3x3 basket rack.

i can vouch for that one!

no doubt about that... not the perfect mushroom you suspect to see from a Accubond. SOMEONE that i know turned me onto them saying they were gods gift to hunters and now there all i shoot! ps, how was the internal damage and blood shot meat all that goos stuff? what did the wound channel look like? -
Jim, thats all that matters to me! we had a great time. my hunter was new to coues and he learned alot from my self, Rick Bin, Enrique and Darren. we had a great time, got to try out some not on the market, protype glass and compare my Zeiss, to swarovskis, minox. it was a great time. one of the most enjoyable hunts i have ever been on and nothing more than a coyote was killed.

good job doug! those blacktail are handsome deer! how was the performance of that unaccurate 300wsm? what about the bullets at 431? -
thanks Christian! im not 100% sure of unit, but they usually hint 34a, but last year they either hunted 35a or b so it could be from either one of those units. i will ask him today. he shot this buck with one shot from his 6.5x55 mauser through the shoulders and top of the heart, buck didnt move a muscle.

November hunters in 36 units

ill try and talk dad into it, maybe we can ride the quads to there from wherever we are gonna hunt at -
not a fan tail, had a high 3x3 rack and a decent size body. i do not think he was a hybrid, he was normal size buck with no signs of mulie, just a different tail i believe, it was pretty cool to see though.

-
yeah we had a blast. one of the hunters was Rick Bin, owner of 24hourcampfire.com i tell ya,he is a stand up guy! we got to compare a lot of different optics and even see some that arent even on the market yet! my hunter was his cousin Mike, we had a blast and yes i did get a tip.
-
he was not a hybrid, 100% coues, just a weird tail like i have never seen.
-
ill take that as you really want to know, even though i dont think thats the case. showed my client a bunch of deer and a bunch of bucks, opening morning he passed on a 65" 3x3 at 250 yards right off the bat. glassed up a 75+ moving thorugh the bottom thickets but couldnt find him agian for a shot. last day, he missed a 500 yard shot at another 3x3. we all had a blast and saw a ton of deer. nobody killed, not even the client that was with the head guide/outfitter that knew the area well.
