ive been shootin my gun(s) all summer/year and have been scouting once. will be down in the area the weekend of the 22nd for the whole weekend to get some more it. doin some quail hunting this weekend to try and scratch the itch a little.

its cool darren, i was actually in tucson this weekend. will be doin a lil quail hunting opening weekend if ya wanna go let me know.

i think ya'll are way under scoring that buck, i think hes prolly 130-135

Doug, that would be the one... the one who crosses those fences with his shotgun's safety off... places his shotgun against my truck with the barrel pointd at our heads with the safety off and who doesnt pick up his spent casings and who can hunt somewhere other than around you and i both.. thats the one

prsonally, i have weird eyes and i cannot use either one of them! i cant use docters all that well either, my Zeiss actually fit my eyes well.

my dumb @$$ room mate got a $600 or so muzzle loader for his birthday LAST YEAR IN JUNE!!! well, this guy thinks he knows everything there is to know baout hunting and shooting ( he has nevr killed a deer, elk or anything) and when he showed me how he mounted the scope and raised it up to his eye, he has about 1" of eye relief... i told him he might want to chage that and he said no it was fine... well THIS JUNE when he finally shot it, he came home with a HUGE gash in his forehead, i said ya must have shot your muzzel loader finally.. he said yeah howd ya know. i simply asked him if he remembered me telling him last year that he might want to move the scope.... it was great he as all imbarrased i love it!

i have heard a few reports of the 210's shooting better groups, with better and more consitent velocity from rifles that usually shoot 215's... i need to look at doing this in my 270 wsm

is that the entrance or exit? very nice! you should be proud! seems like us members have killed a few lions this year!

i use f215m in all of my rifles accept my 22-250, i use rem 9 1/2 or cci 200 in my 22-250

good to see some one else has a 721 in .270!!! i see the bullets on the stock are 140 accubonds, hand loaded or the federal flavor?

get the 270wsm, i have one of each and my wsm is my go dedicated deer rifle

it will kill an elk at 500 yards but i think that too long of a shot for .277.. that is a long poke! if your going to be shooting that far at elk, you need a 300 ultra mag. mine shoots well, not much kick but it also has a good recoil pad and weighs about 10-11 pounds accuracy and velocity have always been there.

better add on a few 0's. that rifle aint goin anywhere!

a dog followed my little brother home from school in about march or so and she has been there ever since. she is a really really good dog, she is the most relaxed dog i have ever seen. only thing bad about this dog is she ate my deer skull from my 2005 buck!!!! phuta! but she is a good dog and gets along with my 10 year old brother, all his friends and our 6 year old and 4 year old neighbor kids that are there all the time. the jealousy thing, my parents chocolate lab "snickers" and my mut "ojos" have that big time but my dog just whines and moans when my dad is petting snickers and not him, hes a funny dog!

my dads first rifle has a story behind it as well. you all have read about me talking about my OLD remington model 721 .270. Doug has seen this thing shoot and it shoots awesome with factory ammo! well this is the story: back in the day ( like 40's 50's and/or 60's) my grandpa owned a grocery store in Michigan. he would get people coming in asking fora bottle of whiskey and not having money for it, so my grandpa would take in rifles, pistols, shotguns what ever in on trade until they had enough money to come back and pay for the whiskey. well the guy who gave my grandpa this .270 never came back. my grandpa hunted all over the country with this gun, taking black bear, moose, grizzly, caribou, black tail deer, white tail, mule deer etc. you named it he had taken it with that gun. well the gun got passed down to my dad and he took his first several deer and first elk with it. the gun has been in the family and all though it is old and beat up, that is the best thing about the gun. there is a scratch on the left side of the gun that is about 6 inches long 1/"4 or so deep. that is the best part about the gun, and the story behind that is even better. he was up in canada i belive hunting bear. one night a bear actually came into camp and scared the horses. the horses got off of their tie line and one of then got into the pots and pans. this horse sent a pot at my grandpas leg and if he hadnt had the .270 there to take the pain, he probably would have lost his leg! this is the rifle i took my lion with. this rifle means so much to our family, it will never leave

i take a 7mm mag over the 280 because it is a bit faster and flatter and ammo for the 7mag is actually pretty available. saying that, i have been thinking about selling my 7mag in order to get a bigger bore 30 cal. i have a 30-06 but have been wanting a 300wsm for my elk gun. i like my 7mag and my 30-06 so i am probably going to keep the 7mag. who knows, if the 61.5 grains of H4350 with the 120 tsx shoot like the have been, it will be my back up gun for my deer hunt.

nice job brian! but like Desertbull said, there has to be a reason someone dumped him. how is he around food? who names a male labe Angel anways? Scout fits a lot better!
