Leupold VX-III help with a decision
firstcoueswas80 replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
i have seen those Kahles advertised, seems pretty neat but the price tag is pretty high. i like the boone and crockett from Leupold, i have the varmint reticle on my 270wsm and it is nice but in low light it would be tough. -
Tyler, you better smoke a big one! dont you dare let this tag go to waste!

amanda, i know people who have found spaish armor, and rifles... pretty neat sutff. i was pretty excited when i found the .50 cal on top of the mountain. it was probably from a machine gun out of a helicopter, but i like to think some guy who was an awesome shot would get up there and glass down and shoot a 110+ from there, that would be neat! -
Shiras, i have a 7mag for sale if you want to check it out.

ive found .50 cal rounds on the top of mountains, i have found piles i mena PILES of OLD bottles and such. thats prolly the coolest stuff i have found, but i really like finding OLD cartradiges that have no markins. Ernesto that is always my 1st reaction and i would give anyting to know why they are there! -

i also think of it as "our" site, there are people who have been here from day one, that stemed from monstermuleys.com this place is like a web-family, it is my homepage an di come about 5 times a day lol! i love this sight amanda! -
really dont need one, 270 doesnt kick hard and it will make the gun extremly loud.
-
i would strongly look at the 270wsm (what i use) and the 7RUM (what my dad uses) these guns seem to fit the deer and knock em dead! real dead!
-
who cares what the nay-sayers say? i know you killed a big buck and you know it! what you think and know is all that matters! that thing is awesome!
-
"It is a fine coues buck for being her first deer" thats a fince buck for your 100000th buck! that thing is awesome i would shoot him any day! congrats!
-
that would not work. varment hunting with a bow and a pistol? i wouldnt do it. id carry my side arm and tell them " im out here and i dont wanna get shot by illegals so im i am carrying my side arm to protect my life if need be" be truthfull and they probably wont mind, lie and they wont like that.

wow runnigbird that is bad! what an ... Bert, you are right and i totally understand about that part. no way in my mind do i think quads are bad for hunting unless they are hunted from all day long with out the person getting off of them to look over the next ridge, or the person drives off road and cross country to look at area. i am in my 20's (barely, 20 to be exact) and that is what i like to do, get out and hike. my old man has a bad hip so i usually stay with him, but sometimes i will get up and go and tell him to keep glassing and cll me on the radio if he sees anything. the best part of hunting is getting out there and having solitude. there is nothing worse then sitting there glassing and seeing someone walk right over the top of the ridge you are glassing, or walk right next to you. when i am hunting i am enjoying every minute that i am out there. i like to get out there and just listen to the nothingness, it is a good way to clear the mind, it is also a humbling experience knowing how much is out there and how little you are to it and how little you actually know (not talking about you, talking about you as in the hunter whos out there) if i shoot a buck, cool! if not well i had a good time anyways. hunting would be a much more pure sport/hobby/lifestyle if everyone was just more considerate to the other people who hunt it and to the land itself.

driving off road to retrieve game
firstcoueswas80 posted a topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
its the late in the evening, your driving home but it is still legal shooting hours so yu ae drving slowly. all of a sudden your 5x5 elk jumps off the road and stops at 100 yards, all of us being the great hunters we are, drop him with one shot. now what? do you walk over to him or do you drive? what i am asking is do you guys think it is ok to drive off a road to retrieve your animal weather it be a big mule deer or an elk? i have done this with 2 elk and have not seen the harm in it it did not ruin the land at all. whats the stance? -

redman, look at the remington model 7 stainless/synthetic in 7mm-08. this is the rifle my dad and i are looking at for my brother. its is 579 and a beautiful little gun. this way, if the decides he doesnt like it, you have a awesome little pee shooter! he can also use it on elk under 300 yards! -

im telling yall, no one is going to shoot a buck smaller than mine. yes ernesto mine is smaller than yours. lets put it this way, when my buck jumped up i put my zeiss on him and could not see spikes. when the sun changed then i saw the spikes and got sat down to shoot.
