man we had a blast! and when scott says that hill side was steep, thats an understatement! him and i got off of that hill side as soon as we got on! and those birds held for about 2 minutes of the dogs pointing but as soon as scott fell they knew to get out of there! best part is, he got one of the birds! Scott, had a blast like always! (seeing that booner buck didn hurt either!) -
i put a stalk on that littl buck just because it would have been text book, glass him up bedded from 800 yards ( actually 792) and shoot him in his bed. he read a different text book as he got up from his bed and vacated the premisis.

Went out with mr. azpackhorse and right away we got on a buck. glassed him up at 3/4 mile away and it was on. we made a text book stalk and when we topped the ridge where we had a good vantage point of the bowl he was in we ranged it at 280 yards. within 2 minutes we had the buck spotted and i was on him. dialed up the turrets on the WSM and adjusted for the wind and waited for him to present a good shot. we waited for about 15 minutes before he offered a shot. the first AND ONLY shot hit him exactly where i aimed... high shoulder shot and he dropped and didnt move a muscle. we started to freak out when we got there because we could not find the buck but we eventually found him. hes what some will call a "weener" buck, but im not a trophy hunter so it doesnt really bother me. he will taste good and im glad to hang my tag on him. he is a nice lil fork with some character. hopefully my guide can post some pictures. thanks Brian!

its pretty cake to find this buck. this is the first picture i have taken through my zeiss with my cheap digital that you can actually see the deer well.

dang Christian you are a redneck!!! love the shirt hahaha ( just messin) Scott and i and his old man managed to see a buck that would have been dang CLOSE to B&C about 20 seconds before doug topped over on the ridge with his truck. this buck was a stud! typical 4x4 frame man he was sweet! we also put antlers on two other bucks from about 250 yards witht he naked eye and if i can put antlers on a deer from that far, it must have been nice! Scott and i did well friday, scott i forgot, who got the most birds? the first covey we busted flew out from under my feet when i made eye contact with one of the birds! we did manage to get a few big, mature males along with a bunch of young juveys. had a blast like always, looking forward to when we can do the slam on my winter break! -
what a stud! congrats! how do the bucks thatg you were watching compare?
-
i agree, they both look bigger than the given scores. congrats

Happy Birthday Brian you old SOB! -
no buck for my dad, didnt see anything that itched his trigger finger. he would have loved to shoot those 3 that we glassed and i spotted. the plan was for me to get into position and for him to get over they and were going to flop bang them both, but that fell through when i could only find one of the bucks.we though we had em! but they gave us the slip.
-
Scott, always something positive to say! i love it!!!! i passed on a lot of smaller bucks but i had to take this one on the last day! i did see two 90-95" but they were a mile away and moving to the thickest nastiest stuff around. saw them 2 days in a row in the same place but each day they were in a bad spot. put a stalk on them opening morning and found the smaller fork ( there was 3 together, and he was a 70" fork) and let him pass. had him at 308 and then again at 418 but let him walk.
-
actually, my second was about 60" my 3rd was about 11" and this is my fourth... in a row! Ernesto, arent you proud! only one shot! and he rolled at the shot!
-
scottyboy can go on for hours and show a lot of pictures and stories, i have seen them and heard them. he has a lot of good ones! hey scott, i glassed up a big blue tarp way up in one of my coues wholes yesterday. lets hike back in there and check out what it is.
-
Lance, my dad shoots a 7RUM also, pee shooter and man its accuarte too! shoots under an inch as a total factory rifle, just a tuned trigger to about 3lbs. 140 accubonds are deadly!
-
either way, i was still closer at 100 1/8 than he was at 84!
-
if im smoking crack Josh, i got closer on the gross score than you did must be some dang good stuff huh? you want some! hahahahaha ( you know im just bustin ur huevos)
-
man ernesto you have a good memory! yeah she was a blonde and yeah she did cut me off. sorry my typings not 100%, sometimes ya gotta think after i type cause i leave words out. on the final morning of the november hunt in 2003, i harvested my first coues whitetail, he gross scored 85" and was shot in the flats where i would not usually hunt.
-
my buck grossed 85 and he had no where the lenght that that buck had. my buck has the same about of mass but a wider spread.
