you are in the right spot, my friend! we all have the sickness, i am about the youngest one here and have had it bad for about 11 years! i, grew up like you, my dad is a die hard fisherman and was into hunting but not very good at it, when i showed a major interest, we started to get serious. i basically had Zeiss binos given to me ( bought them in 100% condition for $800) and i grew up being best friends with a kid whos parents are both world champion archers. might have heard of them, the Ragsdales, shoot for PSE. however, i am into rifle hunting not really archery. but i have the sick ness just like you and theres nothing i like better than taking my doberman pincher/ austrilian shepard mut out on hikes into elk country! welcome to the club, and trust me, we all have it!

Ditto to what Ron said. when i apply for elk, i usually do a early rifle bull hunt first chouce, and then rifle cow all the rest. i just like to be out there hunting elk and a rack doesnt make that much of a difference to me. i have only been applying for antelope for three years, and this is my first year applying for sheep, hopefully i will draw one of those tags when i can still walk and shoot straight! well, atleast semi-straight!

firstcoueswas80 replied to stanley's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
yet another native here. to me it is the Coues hunting!!! honestly! i love hunting them! not only that, but the hunting in general! yeah like doug said, there is better hunting else where but i love it here! its home and its where all of my family minus one family of cousins aunt and uncle reside.
