to heck with the bull, i wana know about that mule deet that is your icon?

when my parents got our chocolate lab, i gave her a few sheds to chew on but she didnt show much interest in them. my mut i have (doberman/austrilian shepard) surpirsed me the other day. i had a small muley antler i found while quail huntingin the garage. i left the door going down to the garage open and while i was gone, he went down, brought it up stairs and started chewing on it which is fine. i have caught him chewing on it a few times in the back yard. that kinda makes me happy, maybe he can help me find some horns! he LOVES going on hikes so maybe i can put him to good use! buthe is scared to death of gun shots! was out quail hunting with him and my chocolate lab one time, when i comenced to shooting, he ran and hid while my lab was righy by myside and, oddly enough, with out any traning she retrieved one of the quail i busted! and yes, that is a nice old school browning!

Scott... i dont know if i cant hunt with you ever agian! lol twoguns OUCH!!!! my worst was probably when i was about 14. cut the top of my thumb straigh down to where the knife couldnt go anyfarther because it was in my fingernail. couldnt load my gun for a good 3 weeks. also put a pretty good cut in my California howdy finger trying to hand tighten a broad head. ther than that, just smalls cuts and such from falls. i almost rolled down the mountain when i was packing out my lion, but other than that i have been lucky. -
my 2006 Lion

why does it seem any lion under 150 lbs is a kitten? mine was called a kitten also, and i do not see any sign of spots on this cat at all. and at a distance of 5 feet in the attack position, i think that would be considered self defense if nothing else, am i wrong? again, congrats on the lion. -

that is a good looking gun, i really like that model, the MTN DM. when i bought my 30-06, if the gun shopt i bought it from would have had that gun, i would have bought it. what loads do you have on the way?
-
sweet looking gun! i have 2 rigs that are almost the same: 30-06 LSS mountain rifle with leupold 3.5-10x50 scope and 7mag model 700 with the zeiss 3-9x50. those groups should be tighter when the barrel gets broken in and once you find a good load. is the gun brand new? are you keeping this one? i like those mountain rifles with the DM.

could you tell if the bullet blew up or held together pretty well? how was the exit? was hoping you were using a accubond or TSX to see what kind of expansion it got!
-
Deerslam, what bullet did you use in the 270 to take that hog? how was the performance? congrats

it is amazing how mnay people cross the border everyday. when i was packing out my javelina, one of my hunting partners said he stopped and talked to 8 illegals not 1/2 mile from camp! i also got pulled over 2 times in about 15 mins on the way back! some of you know and some of you dont, i am going to school to work for the border patrol! that is really what i want to do! wish me luck! -
Snow lion hunts
firstcoueswas80 replied to GRONG's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
lino hunting is for sure a challenege! i did it on a spot and stalk and it honestly, tested my man hood. it would have been fine but i had on new boots with a not as good as i thought fit. hard work really pays off, as it does in any hunt.i can only imagine how hard and physically and mentally demanding a hunt with dogs would be. my hat is off to you guys who run dogs!allthough, i must admit, if i had a choice of killing a lion with dogs or spot and stalk, i would take spot and stalk. -
