So the dudes cargo pants catch fire as he tries to stomp his fire out. That would have been awesome.

Edge, I agree with you. Thing is ctafoya was referring to the folks taking the video not the shotgun shooter that started the fire and my response was to his comments about the guys making the movie. If anything the bystanders could have stopped this AHole from shooting when they realized he was shooting incendiary rounds.

Also strange that instead of doing something about the small fires, they decided to keep filming.

When was the last time you ran up a rocky slope to put out 1/2 dozen hot spots with your bare hands? I agreed withy your post but after watching the video it is obvious that it would take a couple people per each hot spot properly clothed and each with a tool such as a shovel.

  3. My son lives in Ogden Utah, last week in the valley they had two 6-7 inch dumps. Snowing again yesterday through today and looking at 1-1.5 feet on the lower elevations. A lot of that snow melt will go to the Great Salt lake. The snow on the back side of the Wasatch and the  snow in the Uintas will feed tributaries to the Green and then to the Colorado and Powell. Have to go back to 81/82 to get snow packs like this.

    This is good info.

When I see it though, I get less optimistic about a windfall of Colorado river water rushing into Lake Powell, Havasu & Mead.  Though basically the entire Colorado River water shed is above normal, it seems that the most important area (Rockies western slope) is not completely 'off the charts' above normal.   The expected flow from AZ's own Little Colorado River looks like it will help, though! ;)

Proof will be in the pudding when the snow really starts to melt up north in May/June.

The Dolores and Gunnison in SWS CO feeding the Colorado & the High Uinta mountains in UT will fill up the  Duchesne in SE UT and Black Forks (S WY) rivers that feed the Green.  Not the main show but some pretty heavy snow packs adding to the Green and Colorado. Just need several more winters of 100%-200% of normal snow pack, we will see.

So the sire and dam hunt?

Looking at the papers with all the FC, AFC, NAFC and NFC in the blood lines figure they are going to birdy as anything you could find. NFC= National Field Champion  AFC= Amateur Field Champion. All that means is that the dog won a field trial event, won a National Field trial event. The A means handled by an amateur in said event.

Must not be wanting to see it.

Been hunting border units for 5 decades all the time hunting on foot covering miles a day. Seen the ground before trails and trash from crossers. Even found a lookout post the cartel had overlooking the Harshaw road. Can remember the first time I found a trash pile and was shocked how much garbage was dumped in one hidden draw I came upon. Would use the cow paths to get to varied hunting hot spots, it's amazing how pounded out those cow paths became after the smuggling started, pounded out paths even after the ranchers had no cows on the ground for several years. Have come across fresh paths trampled in the grass when the smugglers started avoiding the established trails. Hiking/hunting about 12 square miles of this ground for a long time and seen plenty of sign indicating illegals, just lately in the area we hunt there has been nothing for a while. Just because you don not like that we have no sign of activity in the area we are familiar with is no reason to call someone as not truthful.
