  1. The Mexican Federal Police are the ones you really gotta watch for south of Douglas or Naco. It's really unnerving trying to communicate with them. They don't speak any English and usually have 5 to 6 sixteen year olds with FN-FAL's just hoping they get to use one while you try to get by. I payed up $60 Morditha for one single 22 rimfire cartridge accidently left in the bed of my truck one time down there. Get everything perfect and spotless when dealing with firearms down south, and make sure there nothing in your vehicle they might question. The best thing you can do is travel with a Mexican citizen that's affiliated with the Ranch your going to hunt. I don't go down anymore even though I used to hunt with a good friend who was a Mexican citizen who owned a ranch. Dan You can get custom stamped brass from starline but I don't know what they require for a minimum order.

    KAHLES K25i IS IN!

Lets just agree to let it lay. We aren't going to see eye to eye. I'm no liberal I'm a conservative which should be obvious in my writings. And all I have said was that I don't think taking Big game animals at extended distances with target bullets is a good idea for various reasons. You seem to think I shouldn't be able to voice my opinion. Everyone is entitled to that. And now you want a fist fight. I'm no virgin to that but there are better ways to settle things. Lets just agree to disagree and keep our disagreements off of here. All you need to reply is DEAL KC Who invited you in to this? I don't know what is up with you but that is not who I am and I'm sure the fellow you keep accusing me of being doesn't like it either. So as usual BLOW THAT NOSE @ WIPE THOSE TEARS and stay out of others business NO CONTENT or I'm going to start telling on you. Dan

    KAHLES K25i IS IN!

Sorry not gonna go away. When I see something I don't agree with I am going to voice my opinion. When I see something I think I can add to I'm going to add. I'm not a cancer or a troll just interested in what goes on in your long range world. Mr. Cliff I stand corrected, you are correct in that tangent theta is a brand of scope, all you needed to say when I asked. It is also a trig function. All of your nastiness toward me is amusing but has not hurt my feelings as I am a thick skinned sob. I am entitled to my opinion. you and Zeke-BE don't own the forum even though you seem to think you are the long range police or rangers Dan.
  6. you can also google Gunparts co. order one from them Dan
  7. 101 is a great over under. No off the shelf shot gun will fit her properly you most likely will have an adjustable but plate with recoil pad added by a good smith that specializes in shotguns. Some smiths have try guns for this purpose but don't know of any off hand. I will check with a source I know and get back to you in a few days . However, if the price is right the 101 is a good one to start with. Buy it. Dan

Some one needs to buy this one. Will run circles around the 6.5 Creedmoor, and these old 70's always shoot. Never been a better rifle made. Dan

  18. Bruce I am in complete agreement with you. These guys don't believe in science and can't give you a valid argument or an explanation, All they are going to do is make silly comments and say your question isn't worth answering or their 6.5 super just improves with distance. lot of poppycock on here. Rebarreling a rifle

Model-70s don't have recoil lugs that can be replace they are integral to the action. Truing up action is a good idea though.

Win Pre 64 Model 70 264 Win Mag "SOLD"

Yes, they used stainless steel mainly in the Pre-64 220Swift but they also used it in Pre-64 264 Win Mags as well. I have seen other examples of stainless barrels but these two calibers are the most common. you can tell these barrels from the others because they are blued using the process of plating Iron on the stainless polishing the iron and then bluing the it, they always have a rather mottled appearance as well as a polished in the white crown. I own examples of both and pictures and documentation can be found in the book THE RIFLEMAN'S RIFLE by Roger C. Rule. Red rubber recoil pads as the one on the rifle shown were optional and are considered even more valuable as they are special orders. Read the "Rule" Book

Win Pre 64 Model 70 264 Win Mag "SOLD"

I concur 100 percent and have the same book quoted from. As an aside the standard grades were made with 26" barrels most of which were of stainless steel for the most part although some were standard forged chrome-molly ie., Winchester proof steel. Steel Buttt-plates were standard on the standard model but recoil pads were a no cost addition. The rifle pictured is 100% percent correct in every-way. .
