http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catalog.Tex...f7-c97fd7aaf714 I own this treestand and I absolutely love it!!! It is very light, quiet and stable. It is easily adjustable for difference tree circumferences. I recently fell out of a tree. (my gorilla hang on armrest broke) so I won't be able to use a climber for probably over 1 year. (vertabrae fractures) I'll sell you mine for a decent price. Pm me if interested. Mike

I see where you guys are coming from w/ the G2 and longer main beam. Everything else just looks so identicle I'm guessing those differences are illusions from angle and distance? I very well may be wrong? -

That is definately the same buck. I'm guessing the slight difference of angle and grainyness of the one picture are throwing some of you off? To me the racks are identicle. -
Kevin, I wish I would have read your post 2 months ago. As a result of not checking the nuts and bolts on my armest from my Kong Lounger I now have a broken leg, back, and shoulder that is healing from being dislocated! Take Kevin's advice!!!

Beautiful buck! Kudos man!! -
I will respectfully disagree w/ 2 guns. Although a fast bow does take some of the guesswork out if not using a rangefinder, lightning fast bows are less forgiving leaving no margin for error. I would advise you to have a pin for every 10 yds regardless of the bow's speed. I find it hard to believe there is an outback that shoots the same hole at 15yds and 40 yds. It is so important, especially with these coues that like to jump the string, to know exactly how far they are before touching the release trigger. I went with the Spot Hogg 7 pin on my Mathews Switchback XT. It is very high quality, and excellent for fine tuning. I do like the cross hair that can be removed if desired. I like the tiny fiberoptic points that allow for pinpoint accuracy, but they don't give off much light in low light periods. Most of the top quality sights out there are about equal imo.

Nice job on a great pig Troy! You've got a great teacher! -
I realize this is kind of a peculiar request but if any of you guys tag a javelina and don't like the meat I'd love the pig donation? I will even drive to your house to pick up the gutted pig if you are in the Phoenix Metro area. I drew a Ham tag this year but won't be able to use it due to several recent injuries.

Robinhood, The best time to actually hunt over scrapes is usually during the pre-rut which is usually mid-late december. Bucks are behaving very territorial trying to establish dominance at this time. The larger bucks will typically make lots of scrapes and other bucks will come to leave scent and urine in the scrape and on the licking branch. That bench you found was probably the location of an incredible scrapeline that would have been effective to hunt earlier on and still may be now. It may also serve as a funnel does use to travel? If that is the case, it would be effective to hunt the area now. Now is when supposedly most of the does are in heat and the bucks will be tending them. Find the does, you'll find the bucks. If any of the scrapes are wet, you may want to set a treestand over it. The bad part about hunting scrapes is that most scrapes are refreshened at night. Get a trail camera to see what and when they are coming by.

Thankyou for the offer Jeff. I really appreciate it! Look forward to meeting you. Mike

Thanks Scott for the kind words. My wife and I have just always really enjoyed Javelina BBQ. I know a lot of hunters that don't like the meat and I just hate to see a tasty pig go to waste! Congrats on your buddies pig!

Giving props to the best bow
TREESTANDMAN replied to mulie hunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
If you want the best bow to make a crummy archery shoot good then get an older round cam bow or soft cam bow. Very forgiving bows w/ longer brace heights. They won't be fast and the let off % will be much lower but very forgiving and will shoot a buck dead just as well as the pricier bows. -

I was just blowing smoke. The AR is a great bow I'm sure. I don't think my Oneida placement is too far from the truth though? I shot one several times about 12 yrs ago. I seem to remember smooth draw, heavy bow, and extremely loud! -

Here are the best bows tested by the experts and listed in order from best to least 1. Mathews switchback XT 2. Hoyt Trykon 3. Bowtech Tribute .. .. .. .. .. .. 58. AR37 59. AR34 .. .. .. 135. Oneida Eagle Josh, you sure pick em well! -
I am against point restrictions. I believe that typically a spike buck is an inferior gened buck that usually will end up being a smaller mature buck than a 1.5 yr old that started out as a forky or even 3 pt. If we restrict the shooting of spikes, we are preserving the inferior gene'd bucks.

Yes Josh, it is definately great being home w/ my wonderful wife and son for Christmas. Thanks again for your phone call while I was in the hospital. That treestand is very comforatable!!! The larger padded seat with the padded back rest and armrests really make for an enjoyable all day sitting experience. This experience sure has increased my compassion for the crippled. Merry Christmas everyone!

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...a&noImage=0 Here is a the exact stand I was using. I was swinging one of my legs down from the platform onto a screw in treestep and used the metal armguard as my hold. I had originally tightened both arms very tight but I guess the bolts had loosened over time. The armguard came right off throwing me off balance and gravity did the rest. If anyone uses a stand similar to this, I would recommend checking the bolts every time.
