25-06, I agree, some good mass on the 70"ish shed. I think he is an older buck w/ really bad genetics of tine and main beam length. He has an abnormal body as well. Dwarf legs and a nice thick body.

photobucketI went out to unit 45 saturday and spent a 1/2 day walking an area I had hunted during january. Found two fresh ones and a older small shed. One of them is from a buck I passed on during january. I'll post a live picture of him as well. The largest is from a high 80's low 90's buck. Looks like the G3 was broke in a fight. The middle one is from the the buck I passed on, probably low 70's. 90" zoom in of his rack.

"Wthin 10 days of taking a bear, the hunter shall present the bear SKULL, HIDE, and ATTACHED PROOF OF SEX for inspection. If a hunter freezes the skull or hide before presenting it for inspection, the hunter shall prop the jaw open to allow access to the teeth and ensure that the attached proof of sex is identifiable and accessible." Part of the new bear harvest procedure found on pg.31 of this years regs. Does anyone know why they require the hide? And why do they take a tooth? Anyone know any specifics on this or why so strict now?

I'll also say Muzzy. I shoot the 3 blade 100 grn. I like the way they interlock. The practice blades do fly differently for me than the regular blades as well.

Montana Black and Gold is my vote. I've had the same sight for 8 yrs, never had it loosen up on me, and it has a lifetime warranty. I used to work at an archery shop and we recieved lots of complaints about the Trophy Ridge sights loosening up. Hopefully they have fixed that problem. That sight you posted looks pretty tempting though!!!

I've bowhunted the Kiabab for several years and always seem to run into lots of hunters. Most of the deer seem to be concentrated in the higher pines closer to jacobs lake lodge during that time with every waterhole in existence within that area being 10 different hunters "spot". I think the kiabab archery experience would be an even more quality experience if there were an archery draw with very good odds of course. Just my opinion.

I'm not opposed to an archery draw on the kiabab at all. I would be to any other unit in the state.

"Let's back up PRIOR to the recommended changes, like to the survey G&F conducted a while back where a majority of those who took it wanted *MORE* opportunity to hunt. The change to the late whitetail seasons was an effort to do just that, thus managing wildife for the whole rather than a much smaller segment of hunters. The game dept. thought the recommendations did just that, thus had no reason to conduct ANOTHER survey of its own. " I remember taking that random survey where the AZGFD asked if hunters were in favor of "MORE" opportunity to hunt. What they omitted was that they would be sacrificing quality hunts for more lower quality hunts. Obviously every average joe is going to click that he wants more opportunity to hunt if there is no opportunity cost. The survey the AZGFD conducted was poorly drafted and leading to the ammunition to back up the current decision. I want all of you ADA survey skeptics to ask yourselves if you personally prefer a LOT less december tags with an easier chance of drawing an october or Nov tag (even though most draw odds for the oct/nov tags were already at or close to 100%) as opposed to an easier but still rewarding dec tag opportunity? What was your vote? AZGFD made a greedy decision in favor of the obvious minority vote. Can you blame them? Wouldn't you give yourself a raise if you could?
