Maybe that big monsoon storm caused a large power outage as the F&G was processing the draw results causing many applications to be deleted and the F&G is trying to figure if the paper applications alone will be enough to cover all the hunts. That is my optimistic guess.

Alright GMM, What were those 200 pictures of? Any good bucks, lions, bobcats, bears, etc? -
That is odd. She is the same person who wrote the email on pg.3. I think we will have the results by friday.
 -
Wow Bret, Several sheds that would score over 120 inches! You sure this was in AZ?

JSR, Was picture from this year? -
Well, Amanda is ending the guess the score contest on wednesday night and she has had good connections w/ the G&F dept so maybe she knows something we dont. On the website they are saying friday the 23rd, so who knows, maybe it will be friday.

I just talked to a F&G employee in the drawing dept and they told me they are hoping to get the results out by the end of this week.

Man GMM, a 400 bull and over 100 inch whitetail already!! Those are two trophys that most people will never see in there lifetime.

On Saturday I almost stepped on a 5 ft Arizona black rattlesnake close to a water hole. It didn't rattle at all. The week before my buddy and I were out and he killed a nice big mohave rattler. Be careful out there!!!
 -
Ernesto!! You are praying for the draw results to come early right?
 -
I checked it about 1 hour ago and it said draw results are not available. When I checked it 5 minutes ago it gave me my draw results for last year.
 -
You guys might want to check the AZGFD website.

I've hunted that area back there. Seen quite a few small bucks and does. LOTS of rattlers.

While Spotlighting over the weekend in unit one my cousins and I spotted a lion. Just thought it was worth mentioning.
 -
	That is some goood news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the great posts guys. Ernesto, I wish the deer and elk thought I was part of the horse when riding in the mountains but I think they can tell the difference between a horse with a rider and one w/out.

This makes no sense to me. Why would a deer move back into a burned area when there is no vegetation to feed on or cover. I can see them eventually moving back but not within days or weeks like some of you guys are saying. I am also curious to get someones opinions on the mortality rate w/ large fires like this. Are the deer able to outrun a large fire like this or do they get dehydrated and tire out and burn? I know that with some good wind, a fire can move pretty fast and steady. Most deer and elk have very little endurance when it comes to running long distances. I know this because my cousin and I would chase elk up in the white mountains on horses and they would tire out before the horses.

If I remember correctly, they take the money a while after they post.

It was a full moon which in my experience has always meant the best spotlighting. We had already seen a bunch of elk and deer. It was around 11:30 pm, we were in between big lake and crescent lake and about 40 yds away up on the hillside we spotting what was probably an adult female lion. It seemed unconcerned that we were there and we were able to watch it walk parallel to us for about 1 minute. It was a very cool experience. If the following day were not Sunday, I would have gone back in the morning with my cousin's friend's hounds. That night we saw a buck antelope which was one of the very few antelope I have seen at night, a very very large coyote or possibly a wolf, and a lot a bulls, and a few small bucks.

I believe that the biggest factor on wheather or not a whitetail will come in to water is SECURITY. I think that whitetail's for the most part avoid water at night because they know that is when lions are out and about. During the middle of the day, the deer know the lions will be napping. I believe this is why some deer may turn "nocturnal" after realizing that a hunter is sitting water during the day they will probably hit the water more at night. I also think that deer are more skittish on water holes w/ close, dense cover surrounding the water as opposed to a water hole that is more open.

Maybe we should ask Ernesto to pray for the draw results to be posted early.

Very nice rack Amanda. What general area and unit did you find that rack in? -
	My guess is July 16th.

Over the weekend in unit one I saw 6 muley bucks. The antler growth was not as far along as I expected. I would say the biggest one had only 6 inches! The coues bucks that I have pictures of from my trail cams had more growth. Maybe the bucks I saw were all going to be forkies and spikes.

	I don't think even the G&F knows.
