My first archery kill-velvet OTC solo
Sobrbiker replied to Sobrbiker's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Thx. Pretty sure the deer don’t go by calendar year, it’s pretty universal that early season is velvet, our January hunt is the same as the rest of the country’s late (November) hunts.... -

My first archery kill-velvet OTC solo

Thanks! As an adult onset hunter that caught the bowhunting bug 2019 late OTC I can say this: All the prior early season weekends since 8/21 I was out early/staying late day hunting spot and stalk and almost died multiple times realizing that just ‘cause I work construction outside doesn’t mean my cardio is up to par😆 I really think this buck and how he presented himself was a gift from the Coues gods! -

That’s an awesome buck, outstanding job young man (and parenting done right props for dad!)!! -
That looks pretty danged good! I’ve got a set being euro’d in velvet right now, and hopefully won’t have to do this but if the outcome is less than optimal I’m exploring my options-thanks for sharing!

Still looking to swap

Tripod adapter and harness not included.

I’m torn between getting a ground blind or just having my APC Sapper ghillie in my pack. I prefer spot and stalk hunting, but the only times I’ve sent an arrow (both rookie clean misses) have been out of a blind over water. I’m thinking glassing during prime time and sitting water mid-day for my plan (first time hunting early archery), and think the ghillie will allow more flexibility. (Stock pic of the APC Sapper coat I already have).

I’ve got a phoneskope adapter on its way that’s part of a package. As soon as it gets here I’m looking to trade it for one I can use. it’s one for a Swarovski ATM/STM/ATS/STS/STR HD (C3-033-A). I’m looking to swap it for one that fits a Kowa 25X LER eyepiece (C3-011-A).

TRADE PENDING I’ve got a pack of 3 125gr Black Hornet Ser-Razors (1 shot into foam once). I’d Like to trade them for 125gr Magnus Stingers or Buzzcuts. only reason I’m looking to swap is because I’m 28” 63#-figure the Stinger’s lower angle will be better for my setup... the one that was shot is on the tape checking flight w/field point at 25yds

TRADED 125gr Magnus Ser-Razor Black Hornets

Gilbert/Chandler area... -
KEEPING THEM, gonna see if they break in with lighter socks. Brand new. Great AZ boot, tried around the house for 15 minutes w/clean wool socks on-fit is just to snug for me. I wear a 10 in most everything, and should’ve gotten a 44. Should be just right for 9.5 or narrow 10.

SOLD PENDING MEET I bought (4)Day Six arrows, but they are a bit heavier than I’d like. 27” carbon to carbon, 28” nock to outsert (50gr inserts). Fletched arrows 394gr (no tip). 3 are 4-fletched with AAE max stealth and one is bare shaft (I have the vanes-two were starting to come off when I received them so I stripped them off to bareshaft test). These are a catch and release off Rokslide, figured I’d offer them up here if someone wants to try these before paying $200/doz. $45, just asking what I’m into them for. Would trade for 125 Magnus (Stingers or Black Hornets), Slick Tricks, or Exodus full. FTF east valley (ValVista/Elliot or thereabouts). pics are from sale ad I got them from.

$80, pick up east valley (Gilbert) Works great (tension currently set at 70#) just not my cup of tea. Would trade for select 125gr Magnus Black Hornets, ST standards, .264 140ish bullets, 65G brass, ARComp/4350 powder, hard bow case, try me...

SOLD I’ve got an Eberlestock X2 for sale. It the Doppelganger Skye pattern and is in great condition-all buckles/zippers 100%, no tears, no stains. I really love this pack, the layout is awesome, it’s well vented, and will haul out well first trip after a successful harvest. ONLY reason it’s not perfect for me is I didn’t do enough research and measure myself-I have a 20” torso length and this pack fits up to a 19”. Day hunting it was awesome for me (excellent spotter and tripod carry, plenty of room for layers kill kit etc, great organization), north of 30# on my particular build it carries too much on shoulders and not enough on hips. $160 located in Gilbert AZ. Interesting trades would be lightweight 2-3p shelter, size 10 insulated boots (Solomon, Lowa, Keen), quality breathable rain set or puffy jacket (L or M depending on make), 6 top tier 125gr single bevel broadheads, a bunch of old 140gr 6.5 Amax’s, Lapua 6.5G brass, mil/mil SWFA SS16 or 12X, local trades of budget 2A items or select powders (4350/AR Comp/AA#9). Open to other offers...
