Someone drew NM! Look into the Williams Western globe sights when you get your muzzy, they are amazing. I’ve taken a pile of stuff with them now and I’m extremely comfortable out to 150 with them. I’ve shot out to 200 but it would have to be the right conditions. Let me know if you want any more info on em.

Just wondering if anyone has had any recent updates on the rut activity around the state since the front blew through last night. My early rifle tag starts next Friday and work is becoming more and more painful while I wait. Would love to see some of the bulls the archery guys got too if you’re willing to share!

Hoss, this is 100% an LTR. I have the same one. You are also right on with the price. I believe I paid $900 for mine. This is one of the best rifles Remington ever made. Mine shoots everything I throw through it about 3/4in. It shoots a 168 gold dot hand load under 1/2in. Good luck with sale!

I sat one of my favorite waters till 11:30. Only saw one doe and a turkey that did laps around it for 4 hours. Decided to take my chair and lunch back to the truck and check another water that’s about a mile back from that one. I began to walk it and saw a doe walking through the real thick stuff about 35 yards away. She started squatting and throwing her tail up like estrus does do, so I figured she had a buck with her. I set up where I had a shooting lane if there was a buck that took the same path, and sure enough he did. There were really tight windows so only real good shot I had was a touch more forward than I like, but at 35 yards I knew I could do it. I let it fly and he dropped right there. As I was taking pictures I had another smaller buck almost run me over going down the same trail as the doe. They are fired up down here at-least. He was about 6000ft elevation and I’m right off the border. Good luck and I hope you guys start seeing more action!

I stuck a 105 on Tuesday that was full rut. Definitely has started up high.

Don’t feel too bad. I had the late muzzy hunt and it was very tough as well. I only saw 4 mature deer. Of the 4 only two were 4x4s. Open sights kept me from being able to get them across canyons. In the end, I harvested an old big fork on day 7. I couldn’t imagine how difficult it had to be fighting the crowds as well. I hope you get another crack at them though, it’s a gorgeous area!

Does anyone know of any bass tournaments on Parker Canyon Lake? I know there are some on Patagonia but that lake and I do not get along. I’d love to fish a trail on Parker canyon if there is one however.
