Awesome write up and awesome ending!! That is a beast of a cow for sure! Congratulations!

So my son has a cow elk tag and a buddy’s son has the deer tag for the youth 23 hunt. We’ll be at the ADA camp and supporting them if any of y’all are up there for those tags or need a hand with anything. Good luck to all the youth hunters coming up! We are heading up scouting again tomorrow after school, and I’ll try to post some pics if I remember to take some. He was lucky enough to tag out on this hunt last year and Can’t wait to give it a go again!

Well come see you, much appreciated. Gonna head up after sunset glassing, 01 black sequoia or 04 black expedition. Thank you.

Free bump so someone else buys it while I’m still able to resist. Have two of these and both are shooters

Back up here tonight. Glassed up lots of elk, still not seeing a lot of deer. Excited to check in the camp tomorrow. We glassed some literally in the same spot he shot his elk last year which was pretty cool. Hoping they stay put another 36 hours. good luck to everyone. Enjoy the time, punching tags or not!

Great motor. Have an 01 sequoia with 223k on it. Timing belt is only downside. Nice low end power.

You are awesome for doing this, thank you

Good luck to you both!! Special times for sure -
What about coming on from the 449 campaign creek/two bar road? On the edge of the burn. the tortilla trailhead before fish creek gets you into some decent coues country as well

They are definitely not like the AR platform! I had AK work done both with Lee armory in Phoenix and Wright armory in Mesa and I’m very happy with both for what it’s worth if you decide to go that route.

I’ll take it. Pm incoming

Nice to have options with both tags! Back out again yesterday and this morning, more does and more elk. Some nice bulls and lots of bugling still, we saw a mix of solo or cow pairs and cows herded up with bulls still. Man I’m excited!! I’m pretty sure I was shaking worse than he was last year.

We saw the usual amount in 23. Rain storm came in though so not sure if the weather was a factor?

Good luck on the hunt! Favorite time of year!

+1 for leupold. For what it’s worth I went with Tract (already had the scope) I just went through this with my 11 year old. The biggest issue we had was getting eye relief and stock fit right and how lower priced scopes tend to “blackout” easier. I started with a diamondback and had to change because the eye box was not forgiving at all and he had a hard time using the scope. Ring height was the adjustment we made that really helped as well The warranty game has stepped way up also for most companies. If you chose them for your kids rifle, I doubt a manufacturer wouldn’t help make things right when the accident occurs.

That’s sounds a lot like our archery hunt!

Spent the morning listening to bugles everywhere. Got into some elk. Small groups of cows and lots of satellite bulls. Son was on cloud nine. No deer but ready to do it again next week

Bump for great glass and a sleeper company. Tract toric punches waaaaaay higher than the price. I side by sided some with razors and all parties favored the torics. I upgraded mine to ultravids but would happily hunt with these any day

I was in this same spot last year. Grabbed a down north face jacket on eBay for $25. The youth sizes tend to be cheaper. Bass pro had some down on clearance as well. Good luck, sending a PM also
