I called the Kingman office and was told Friday was the first they heard or seen the new rules. They were surprised as we were. I find this hard to believe but that is what I was told. It didn't sound like tag #'s would change either this year.

10 on the ranch will be great with only 30 tags this year. 25 points should guarantee the tag with all of the BS going on also. Better contact Elusive Pursuit Outfitters and hire them now so you can guarantee your access permit. Craig Steel seems like a good dude and I would ask for him. If unguided and no access to ranch you might have wasted a lot of points for below average goats and competing with 70 other hunters.

I hope what you say is true Jay and there is no special treatment for anyone with these changes and access passes. Sure will make for a better hunting experience if you have the access pass with that few hunters.

So I believe the gentleman that handled the ranch tags this year is an outfitter and they had a lot of hunters on the ranch this year. Did this change? How many of the access passes go to that outfitter? Can the rest of 10 handle the remaining tags, seems like quality will go way down on the other half. Seems shady and sad day for the average die hard trophy hunter.

Is that the same bolt pattern for a Ranger Crew 800?

Thanks for bringing this back up. It a good reminder for all of us who appreciate the tags we have and those who tried to take a good portion of the hardest to draw tags away from us. I just got a subscription renewal in mail that will not be renewed now. Thanks again for the reminder.

I helped on a hunt this year and too many hunters and helpers to truly enjoy the hunt plus your dealing with 90 degree temps. If your looking for a great meat hunt then this could be the hunt for you but don't expect to see any bulls over 330 unless you scout a lot and even then you might only find one or two. There is a few in there but after opening day they shut up until end of the hunt. People will hunt on top of you and don't care so prepare for that mentally though this happens everywhere now. We killed the first morning and got out of the craziness and we're just looking for a great eater. We didn't hunt the wilderness areas which I would do next time but there won't be for my hunting group. Good Luck.

Need some help. I need a new tire compressor to carry around while scouting and hunting that is compact and fit under rear truck seat. Also that will pump up truck tires without having to sit there for 30+ minutes before heading home. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I would look for Cameraland demos deals or used Swarovski on here or eBay. I would buy used Swarovski before I considered new in a lesser glass, IMO.

You never know with the AZ G&F. With them charging the day after the deadline to update card info, I was thinking they had it together and here we are still waiting. I'm sure they had to call hundreds of people because their cards still didn't work though, which they don't deserve a tag. I feel bad for the draw archery hunters that don't know what unit they drew and hunt starts less then a month.

Either my wife or I drew a sheep tag. Cabelas card showed charge this morning. Can't believe it. Come on results.

My wife applied for sheep and no problems. Was going to apply for deer also but an error message came up half way through. We will wait for a few days before trying again.

All of the top units/tags go to the max point holders. I wish AZ&F would fix this so the non max point holders had a chance to draw one tag in the top units. Doesn't seems right that 99.8% of us will never draw or even have a chance to draw 22, 24's, 44BN, etc...in our lifetime unless the trophy quality changes in the unit. AZ&F doesn't handle the other draws this way.

Looking like it's going to be a much better year then last year for antler growth. Anyone know how much 9 and 10 are getting with these recent storms?

I would like to see them band during any deer and elk hunt.

I have had great success with rage broadheads and have always left me a great blood trail. I use a very small piece of wax to help hold the blades in when stalking through grass/brush. I will never use a small broadhead on elk as I think they end of bleeding internal and leave no blood trail which leads to a dead lost elk majority of the time. I tried the ulmer edge on a javelina recently and thought the hole was going to be smaller then the rage or gravedigger but not that small. I gave the other two away even though they did fly good.
