I love the fox and skunk photo. I get a kick out of the "Can't touch this" attitude skunks have! It reminded me of a trail cam video I have of a skuck running a fox off of a water hole. I'de post it but don't know how to post videos.

You going to be in Tucson any time soon. We have an extra, not all that good of one, that I might be able to give you when my wife is at work.

I CAN'T WAIT! I'm affraid I'll be making some deer hunters upset but thats just what we all have to deal with on public land I guess. -
Can't be sure unless I saw it in person but the idea crossed my mind.

Thinking about getting a new pack and came across the J34. I've heard lots about the other eberlestock packs but nothing about the J34. I see that its price is about $100 less then the 107 and just about as much room. Just thought I would ask and see if anyone had any personal experience with it.

I go to the UofA and I have to admit that I accualy watched the game. Does that give any idication on how much I care about "My" team. Less then a month till graduation! Like scoutm, early in the 4th quarter, I told my wife that they will find a way to loose. Luckly I only have class three days this week so I wont have to hear to much of the whining and complaining from the student body. But I do feel sory for the cats and my congrats go to the ducks.

I don't believe that one breed is easier to train then the next. It is mostly based on the individual dog. I have a male GSP that is extremly hard headed but with a bit of training he has come a long way. My other dog (english pointer, brittney mix), my first pointer, was extremly easy to train but she can outhunt most pure breads. My advice would be either GSP or english pointer. Make sure they come from good blood lines, get a shock collar (easier on you and the dog) and read "Gun Dog" sorry don't know the author right now. But most of all, get them in the field as much as posible, they will make mistakes but the dog will learn. Good luck.

Been a lot of GSP pups lately and it killing me! I need to get another one but don't think I'll be in the market for another year. Good luck and they look like great dogs. I love the lighter colored GSP.

Thanks for shareing. I saw a buck in my area during the archery hunt that was alot like to wide buck. I hope he will still be there come my rifle hunt.

PSE has a great inventory, I like jesse at Saguar tackle and archer though he does not have much inventory. He can get you anything and his service is great. I haven't been to impressed with Robinson though, just my experience.

Just wanted to share the great experience I had this weekend to help out on my boss’ son’s junior hunts. He had two sons with tags 10 and 15 years old and he asked if I would help out. Long story short his 10 year old filled his tag opening morning with a spike at 320 yards and the son I was with missed a few deer that day. This morning we want back to the same area were we had some good luck the day before. It started out slow but we ended up seeing and getting a shot off at a forkie and the shot jumped some deer way down the draw. These deer, a herd of 10 mulie deer, had a couple of spikes in it and then I spotted a nice whitetail with them. We headed down the draw, peaked over the ridge and spotted the mule deer pretty quick but no whitetail. Him and his day head down the ridge about 50 yards to get a better look at the bottom. About 15 min. latter, as I’m watching the mule deer spikes, thinking his son about had it and was going to shoot one of them, I hear a BANG…. WHAP, but the mule deer just stood there. Did he miss? It sounded like a hit! Come to find out that his dad spotted the whitetail bedded down at about 290 and he put a GREAT shot on it. Due to privacy, I’m only going to show pics of me with the deer. Fun weekend for sure! And here he is packing out his deer. He shot it from the big green tree right over his right shoulder.

For a second I though i was going to have to grow a goatee, which I can't, but then I realized I spend no time in 22 or 23.

Just thought I would through this out there. A freind has asked me to help him with his two sons jr. hunts this upcoming weekened in 36a. I think they are looking for mule deer this year. I'm looking foreward to helping them out but know hardly anything about the unit. Any advice on were to start?

Congrats on the bull scotty!

Jim Heffelfinger's book is a good one and he talks about how they estimate deer numbers. And your right they are estimates. It would be nearly imposibale to get a true count. Read the book, it would take me all day to explain the process.

Found those in your usual spot? If so, you haven't cleaned out the area yet?
