I'm itching to go but school starts on monday and I have a whole lot on my plate to get done before then. But I hope to make it out even if its just for a bit, last bit of fun before hitting the books again.

I'm not justifing what happened, I think it could have been taken care of a little better but many of us are talking about how this gives a negitive image of "sportsmen" how about we all just stop and think all the thing the department has done to improve the image of sportsmen. My point is, I hope we can look past the negitive (while learning from it) and move on and enjoy our lives. Sorry if I made anyone upset by saying this but this is a public forum and we are all intitiled to our own opinion and I hope we can all respect eachother.

My wife found this desert mule deer set a few years back and I found the head of a different mule deer that had just shed its antlers right before it died. With a couple of bolts and some putty I think it turned out pretty good. Hard to know exactly how they fit but I think they are close. I ended up giving it a 24’ spread.

http://www.azgfd.gov/h_f/highlights/highlights_0602.html check out that link, article just right of the shed pic. Yes you can carry a hand gun BUT you may not take ANY wildlife with that hungun while you are bowhunting, thats how I read it.

Check out jim hefflfinger's book "Deer of The Southwest" he talks about them in there. Casey is right a true cactus buck will ALWAYS be in velvet and never shed its antlers. An common cause is loss, or some other problems, of his "manhood".

Been meaning to share these. Scored the mule deer at about (gross) 175 with 15 scorable points. Then found this coues the very next day. And a single shed from earlier in the week. Southern unit.

IHunt2live replied to audsley's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Thats what most enviromental groups want, just sit back and let nature do its thing. Well, we are a part of nature and we have hudge impacts on our natural resources and we can't just sit back and let things take it course. -
Jed, We have been using the Garmin 60CSx with topo maps loaded on it at work and I have realy liked them. easy to use but not cheap.

What is the Ideal Arrow and Broadhead Choice for Elk?
IHunt2live replied to mulie hunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
That set up you have sounds good to me, not the one I will use but it will work. You will get plent of responces on which one is the best but I don't care what set up you use, shot placement is the most importent. Put it in the right place and anything will work. Heck native americans used sharp rocks and sticks. -
Thanks guys, spent the morning shooting clay pigeons with an old friend then had a BBQ, mmmmm elk burgers. Great birthday.
