At the get together last weekend Amanda suggested I post some pics of my trip to Alaska this spring/summer. I was fortunate enough to spend six weeks up there and got to travel quite a bit for an externship I did through school. It started by spending a week traveling to two different Native Villages that are located above the Arctic Circle. Base of the Brooks Range "Sunset" over the Yukon River Two wolf pelts taken by one of the residents. After that week I flew down to Anchorage and was based out of there for the next five weeks. I was able to get out and do a fair amount of fishing and sight seeing while I was there but unfortunately had to head back here right before the fishing got really good. Oh yeah, and there's a good amount of wildlife to be seen there too.... I can't wait to get back up there and am debating on whether I am going to take an offer to spend two years up there starting next summer. The summers are amazing but the winters have this AZ boy a little hesitant... You can also see some more pics and stories behind them at http://www.teamkendrickoutdoors.blogspot.com/

If by fix you mean pull...that yeah I got to do a lot! Actually I probably did more OS and operative in those 6 weeks then I did all last year in clinic. I did get myself on the waiting list and will be in Missoula during during October and November but it might haver worked out for the better that I didn't draw a tag as it is looking to line up that I will be doing residency interviews during that time frame and not sure how much time I'll actually be spending there.

Now that i think of it, I was probably just grumpy while shooting when girlyhunter and the younger hunters were working me pretty good on the archery range. That's probably where the scowl came from -

Like everyone said, it was a great time. And a big thank you to the Crowther family for putting it together and providing meals. -
Over 3000+ acres since about 11am. Saw the first signs of it today around that time and by 1:30 in was in full force. Hoping it avoids the peaks but the houses on the east side out past Silver Saddle on the 89 are in harms way right now.

The lady and I are going to be able to make it out in the morning for sure. Might try and make it out tonight to do a little fishing and camp fire. -
Looks like you have a good spot. Just hope they don't move out before the season. We had a great spot last year the two weeks before the season opened the bears just up and disappeared. Was a bummer.

Made it back to Kansas this past weekend to hunt turkey with Joe and Houston. Great time and I will hopefully be hunting birds back there each year from here on out. Here's the bird I was able to harvest off of Joe's farm. For the rest of the story you can read it here: http://teamkendrickoutdoors.blogspo...ady-killer.html

Has anyone heard of people hunting coyotes with dogs? I never had but a lady at my clinic asked me what I knew about it because she is trying to research it and was wanting some information. Apparently her interpretation of it is that folks use the dogs to lure the coyotes into range by antagonizing or attracting the coyotes and then running back towards the hunter with the coyotes in pursuit behind them. Sounds a little far fetched to me but I told her I would post the question to see if anyone out there knows anything about this technique. So....anyone have any information?

Very interesting....I had no idea about this but have started reading some stuff on it tonight. I know I had a coyote try to lure my lab out of camp one night into its pack but haven't heard of the reverse happening until today.
