A great friend I never met but had hrs of conversations with. He gave all for his country, I remember the text from a proud father who's son just learned to piss in a bottle while hunting . God please take his family in your arms.. We will meet some day I promise..

This absolutely breaks my heart. Over the last two weeks I have personally been talking to Mike quite often. He had a patio roof that he's been trying to get done for over a year. It seems like every time we tried to make plans to do it he got sick. Unfortunately it never got done. My heart is broken for his family and himself. I can't find the words say to his family just how sorry I am for your loss. To any of his family members I know there's still work to be done on the patio and around Mike's house. I would like to donate my time and whatever materials it takes to finish the patio roof. And any other help the family may need in this troubling time. There is no hurry as I know this is a very troubling time. My prayers are with You Mike and may good bless your  family. Rest in peace My friend Mike.

Thanks for the info. I'll set it up the sunday before archery season opens and cover in brush. Also will use plenty of scent blocker

Rub juniper bushes and any natural sent you have around you. Do this before entering your hunting  area. Scent blockers work. Also.

Some deer get skittish and some don't seem to pay much attention.  I had 4 big muleys slowly approach a tank I had a pop up bling set up by the fence- all brushed in- and three stayed back while the one got about 45 yds but decided he didn't like what he saw so they all left.  Other times I've sat my chair behind some branches and sat still while a 4x4 looked my way once and just kept coming in till I double lunged him at 23 yds.

I personally think wind and scent control are priorities

Scent control is a must. I have hunted out of blinds my whole life. And it doesn't matter how much cover you have if the smell you there gone. Blinds work well I normally go a week before. You really cant do much any earlier. Some idoit will still your stuff. I use a ozonics  scent control and I have very good results.
