Interesting facts on New Mexico score contest
WadeNAZ replied to SirRoyal's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
Personally speaking it was hard for me to guess a number that high especially when the first picture of the hunter has the camera darn near sitting on the buck's nose and he is sitting a good 3 feet behind the buck... BUT... it is a guess the score contest, I looked at the pictures and threw a guess. Then there are others I am sure who get their scoresheets out and try to do the math. No offense to SirRoyal but honestly does it really matter. And for anyone who is afraid to be made a fool of.. You should try it. Its not bad to look like a fool once in a while. -
Agreed that the Blue and other areas in Unti 27 is just right for this type of hunting. I have never done it myself and after hunting the unit wished I had some mules/horses. It has been years since I have hunted the Galiuros in 32 but could be worthy. And Unit 23 covers a lot of country from north of Roosevelt up onto the Rim. I am not sure what the needs are for water but there are no shortage of Tanks and natural sources of water in these units especially 23,27. good luck.

Guess the score contest - April 2011
WadeNAZ replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
Looks Like Casey already had this as his guess so if 132 6/8 is not taken then that is my guess..Geting hard to sift through all the scores already guessed. -
Very Cool! I have seen 2 in all my 40 years. Last one was a face to face encounter as I was rock climbing near Canyon Lake about 20 years ago. I was pulling myself up on a ledge and as my face rose above it I heard that Hiss that immediately stopped me from any movement and there I was face to face (less than arms length) to one of those eerily beautiful creatures. That one had more af a yellow than orange colors on it. Good stuff thanks for sharing!

132 5/8. Awesome buck! -
Dude you may not have accused but you did imply. Then you are the one that has seemed to get worked up and take your rant off topic. If someone wants to share their success especially of a trophy then good for them. Rather see that than some clown insinuating something that he has no proof of. eh? BTW Congrats to the hunter on a Heck of a bull. Sorry your post got so off track. more and more on this site these days there seems to be some wiseguy who thinks they know more than the person that was actually there . All part of the fun between seasons where they have nothing better to do that to try to stir up some feces.

There was not an option for undecided so I voted in support of the ban. I have never baited, hunted from a blind or stand. I have to admit I am not up to speed on the current regulations regarding baiting of any big game other than bear but believe there should be regulations on it. I do agree there is a challenge enforcing the law but there is also a challenge enforcing many of the existing laws including the taking game illegaly. I am going to educate myself more on the topic to try to change my mind but I do not feel baiting and unaturally changing a deers natural pattern (assuming baiting may do so) provides the challenge that I feel hunting should have. I am not even sure I am for it in the case to provide challenged hunters an increased opportunity.

I noticed on the current site that your titles link to the detailed description and Specifications which I like. I dont see that there is a place to look at reviews of the products. I think this would be important tool to both your customers and to you as a business. I like that you have added a "Contact us" link in addition to the customer service information. If you intend to solicit and use feedback from costumers or potential customers you might want to highlight that contact us area or add an additional option on your page just for feedback, reviews, testimonials. etc.

IMO the problem is that the hunters we are talking about are ones who think they are better than they really because they rely on or feel they have the technology and tools to make them that good. Me I am an average guy and an average hunter. But, I know it. I do not have the time nor the money to invest into what it takes to become proficient and confident enough shooting at long ranges (more than 400yds). So just to elaborate on coues snipers comment the average guy is not the dum dum it is the average guy or above average guy who thinks they are better than average. This is a great post. thanks for sharing. Know who you are and know your limits.

dang you figured me out. Seriously though. this article is vague. it could have been Smugglers, Rancher, or even another Deer hunter ticked off that these guys came in quail hunting in the area he was in. But the fact remains this unit along with other units has dangers that need to be considered and thought out. Tread in the field with caution and be on the lookout, make sure you have protection and when possible hunt with a partner and camp in large groups. If you see an armed bandido (trust me it happens) then move away from the area undetected if possible. Get to know the BP folks in the area and make sure you have their # to report activity.
