Care about what's going on ON the southern border? Absolutely! Care what's going on ACCROSS the southern border (or northern border, in this case), not so much..... Meanwhile, back to this thread, I suppose we'll just see how it plays out, but as in the past I personally doubt anything significant will come of the latest round of talks/bills. Just too impossible to make big/radical change, given the majority required in the senate, IMO.

That’s old school money-budget watchin’ right there, Russ. My older sis taught me that when I was REALLY pinching the penny’s while in college. Helps a lot to write it down see exactly how much of your money goes where. 👍🏻 -
Might have to get me one of those Twitter accounts snd start amassing followers! 😂 Or as Del would call it, Twa…. Eh, never mind. RIP, Del. 😉

Yep, no doubt.

I care exactly ZERO about laws affecting handguns (and possible assault rifle buyback programs) in Canada, and I care even less whether their prime minister feels like you can use a gun for self protection in that country. I do however, find it amusing that I occupy enough space in your head to cause you to keep calling me out in your posts, though. 😂

Yep, I suppose there is still plenty of downside possible from here. With ETH and DOG each down >70% in the past six months though, I was just curious what folks are doing with their holdings. If confidence is there in the long run, then seems like a good time to buy. BTC for sure seems the most stable (for obvious reasons), and yes, I suppose possibly waiting for it to drop on par with the others could signal a good strike price to buy. S. -

So what are the crypto investors here doing??? Still holding?? Buying more at the low prices?? -
Was up at Christmas Tree lake fishing over the weekend. Nice little shower on Saturday. Will be nice when the standard monsoon kicks-in in earnest. As a side note, there were two choppers that were using the lake to fill their buckets for several hours during mid-day. Game ranger that checked us said there was a dry-lightning fire that had sparked about 7 miles south of us. He said it wasn't spreading much, and they hoped to contain it fairly quickly. (Pilots dipped their buckets in the opposite arm of the lake than we were focusing our fishing efforts, so no impact to us....) S.

Yep, I'm thinking basically more Twitter baloney. Or in this case Youtube baloney. Youtube dude is taking the verbiage to the extreme and trying to make it look like it will affect my ability to clean my legal guns. The focus of this portion of the bill is quite obviously on 'ghost guns', and not the average joe like me who just needs to clean his already legal weapon. To me, it is crazy talk to make the leap to this interpretation of the verbiage. Either way though, none of it matters. Likely would never pass the senate as written, and if it does, I'm gonna clean my guns anyway, so no big deal.

Oh brother...... The answer to your last question is NO, it's not true. The internet is perfect for masses of ill-informed who would believe anything they see posted. A simple search of the bill proves this is false, but many who rely on Twitter and other sites for their "news" will run with it assuming it to be true. (Honestly, just a basic sniff test should be enough for most to realize it's typical internet fake-news babble..... Law-makers are crazy, but not so much so that anything like this would realistically get proposed....)

Thanks for sharing. (BIG congrats on daughter's wedding!!) 41 pages of legal babble in that .pdf.... Did word searches up and down but couldn't find anything regarding being accountable if a gun is stolen and used in a crime. (In fact, the word 'stolen' doesn't even appear in the bill.) Seems like there is some stuff in there regarding safe storage of firearms having to do with accessibility by minors or anyone who ineligible to carry (felon?), but can't see anything about guns being stolen. Oh well, makes me glad I'm not a lawyer or lawmaker who has to interpret that crap to make practical sense of it all.

The Ukraine comparison is apples vs. pears, IMO. Shipping military equipment to a country for their military to use (and distribute for defense as they see fit.... possibly to civilians, who knows...), to me is totally different. Regarding biden wanting to ban assault weapons, I'm not surprised and I'm also not worried. That same rhetoric has been played-out many times over. The possible banning of higher capacity mags though, is definitely something to watch though. All of this is IMO, only.

I would recommend you still look into his outfit (among others). His crew will still be making it happen.

Interesting for those in Tucson. I'm really curious though, regarding the specifics on the bill that 452b264 referenced.

I'm curious about the comment regarding the bill that will make you a felon if your firearms are stolen and used in a crime. Can you elaborate? Where did you get that info?
-
Heck ya!!!! That’s awesome!

Thanks for the heads-up on the fire restrictions, Dan! As an interesting note, I see that the Stage 2 definition for San Carlos differs slightly from USFS, in that the use of propane is also prohibited (USFS allows propane with under Stage 2.). Heads-up for everyone on that. Gotta read the details.

Crazy how news and info travels SO fast and gets distorted along the way. Abbott originally said the shooter was engaged by LE outside of the school upon arrival. Apparently not true. (I don't begrudge Abbott, or frankly anyone else for spreading misinformation early on. Officials try to be engaged and give updates, but are only as good as the information they are handed/given to share...) Latest update says that the shooter was definitely NOT engaged outside of the school. Texas police defend 'complex' shooting response as more details emerge (yahoo.com) edit: Can't comment on your question of retreat, Eddie.

Nope, apparently not all of them. Investigation on this latest one continuing so maybe will change, but initial report is that impairment doesn't appear to be a factor in this latest accident. (I'm guessing authorities would have done some sort of standard sobriety screening/checking of the boat operator(s).) Regarding the four recent drownings, who knows.... For sure alcohol can/will impair judgement and physical abilities. Not sure we'll ever know to what extent it was a factor with those four. Swimming across a backyard pool is one thing, swimming across a much further stretch of open water is entirely different. Tough deal.

Yikes..... A rant, indeed. Serious question; Did you buy more DOGE-USD because of some sort of strategy analyst info, or sort of basically on pure speculation based on the fact that it's lower today than it's been in a year? I'm still sort of just sitting on the ETH I bought years ago, but get tempted on occasion to sell/buy on the swings.... -
Fishing this weekend was good, as usual. Caught plenty of rainbows and browns Saturday (focused on fly fishing that day). Several were very nice, with one brown being a real hog. Switched to spinning gear on Sunday and had fun with the smallies. Good times!

For sure. Hit me up. If I remember, I'll maybe post a high-level report here, but PM me for gory details.
-
Not yet, but I'm sneaking out of work a little early today to head-up there for the weekend. S.
