    PECANS FOR THE HOLIDAYS

It's now officially an annual tradition! Sisters, daughter, GF and even ex are getting accustomed to me acquiring and sharing a big supply of holiday baking pecans! Email on the way, Phil! S. PS: My son killed yet another pronghorn this year, with that sweet M77 we bought from you all those years ago!

    Rain coming.

Like a lot of old timers/natives, I've been beat down and disappointed over and over with bullish predictions of rain. I'll bet the under, and will be grateful if I'm wrong.

Part of North Kaibab to Reopen Tuesday 8/19

I've been hiking the AZ Trail with a couple of buddies, and we just hiked sections 40 & 41 on the Kiabab last weekend. Section 40 goes right through the East side of the Kiabab where the Bravo fire burned. The section we hiked just opened back-up last Thursday, and we were the first to hike that section of the AZT post-opening. The fire scar intensity through the portion we hiked was anywhere from severe in portions, to mild/spotty in others. We saw lots of deer and sign all over the burned areas (plus lots of fresh bison sign in the burned area closer to the southern end....). We also saw turkeys and grouse in the spotty burned areas. Pretty amazing how fast the wildlife will move back into burned areas. S.

    Live bull elk tag daily!!!

Weird..... I went in to edit the post, and it only showed one video. I deleted it but turns out that was likely the one you wanted kept to the post. Meanwhile, it won't let me edit the 'text' to take the 5 out, but when you click on them it is a dead end. Unfortunately, not sure what else I can do.

Is anyone surprised? Money is the name of the game, and ABC/Disney are in the business to make it. He says some stuff and some people got butthurt, so he got canceled. Now he has to apologize or say something, and then the Disney money faucet turns back on. Yawn.... I don't watch either, so didn't care one bit if cancel culture got him or if he's still on. Makes zero difference to me.

Missing hunters found dead in CO

These stories always puzzle me a bit. I would like to think, and fact I firmly BELIEVE, that if I was ever caught out in weather away from my vehicle, that I possess the skills to survive. I carry a basic little emergency Ziplock with me (lighter, fire starter, etc.), and feel like I am ready for the worse case if I need to stay out. That being said, I'm assuming these two dudes maybe thought they were qualified as well. Shrug.....

    Charlie Kirk

Yep, I saw that story when Colbert was cancelled, too. Never saw any proof, though. Would be a pretty deep rabbit hole to find motivation (and a valid paper trail) for usaid to be funneled to a CBS or ABC,. LOL

    Charlie Kirk

Eh.... I don't watch them anyway, so makes zero difference to me if they are cancelled or not. These decisions are virtually always a money move by the network anyway, which sort of waters down the intent. Good ratings = more money. Bad ratings = less money. Just network business.

Ya, to me it just looks like more and more details are coming out. The media is going to keep cranking-out updates and new (and possibly more detailed) stories over and over again. Gotta sell those ad spots!

Low ballers are likely just passive browsers who don't mind dropping some money for a screamer deal on something they don't really need or didn't know they wanted. Hopefully soon somebody who is purposely in the market for these will show-up with a fair offer.

    What's for dinner tonight?

Was going to post this over in the 'Green Chili' thread but figured I would put it here instead. One of my favorite times of the year is late August - early September because I can take advantage of my favorite two New Mexican exports; Pronghorn and green chilis!!! Picked-up a big sack of extra hot Hatch chilis from my local Food City and went to work over the weekend roasting them up and putting them to use. Ended-up with 24 8oz jars of green chilis and 12-quart jars of 'green chili' (find the debate on the other thread). Some of the green chili was made with pork and some with pronghorn. Both excelllent!
