What hunt did your son get ? We have the junior deer camp in November if you want to come down and camp with the Arizona chapter of SCI. We provide a safe place to camp and we have guides for at least a half day of hunting or glassing with you. Let me know !!

Glad to see this post !! My family and some friends and board will be down on Thanksgiving morning to set up camp. We will be deep frying our turkey and watching some football. The SCI camp will be set up for anybody to use. If you all want to bring a turkey and toss it in the fryer. Or why not make a turkey dinner pot luck ?? I am open to suggestions. SCI will provide breakfast , lunch and dinner Friday, breakfast lunch on Saturday with the potluck Saturday night. Gabe is the dessert man, so maybe bring some ice cream but we prefer a small dish of some dinner meal. Drinks and water are provided. Sunday we provide breakfast. We do have a skinning tripod for deer or pigs and we try to assign a guide for at least a half day so every body has an extra glass man with them. I have a Mathews Drenalin bow for sale.The bow has never been shot, it is too long for me. The bow is 29 " draw up to 70 lbs. I have never even drawn the bow back and I do not want to have to change the cam to my draw length. I will post a picture later today. 500.00 obo includes shipping Bobby

Intresting conversation, I had a bilnd set up last year for the August hunt.The blind was far enough off a road and nobody had even been down that road all summer.I hunted it a few mornings and evenings.One day I went to check the card on the camera, there was a picture of the backs of BP agents. The blind was ripped at the top by the zippered opening, my folded chair was half way out and one of the poles is broken.I think BP was following some illegals who might have taken up refuge in my blind !! I put the camera back up in December to bow hunt in January. When I went back to check the card, my camera was gone. This spot is out in the flats, we had never seen any foot prints or sign of anybody around. My blind was well hidden with alot of brush, only some one walking across the desrt would have stumbled on it and my camera !! Last year up north on my wifes elk hunt, we went back to the tank she had shot her cow the year before. Someone left a brand new blind with a log as a seat inside the blind. The blind was in the wide open, no brush around it !! I called my WM buddy and he said use it and take it if nobody claims it? I decided we would hunt else where because I did not want my wife to see a confontation over a water hole !! I wanted to just to just take the blind down and set up mine in the trees like the year before, instead we sat a natural blind on a water hole in another area where she shot her elk on the second evening. There was a tree stand across the pond, but I think it is first come first serve also !!

Let me add why we do this every year. This will be the 4 th year we have this great event. Jim Shockey, although he is Canadien, raises funds to help take wounded American soldiers hunting. This is the reason for the weekend event. This year, if his wounds are healed enough, one of our own local heroes will be going to Vancover Island with his dad to hunt Black Bear with Jim Shockey.DJ was wounded in an IED explosion and has gone thru many operations and rehab. DJ is from Tucson,Arizona. We the Arizona Chapter of SCI will be paying for the air fare for both of them. The money raised is split between taking soldiers hunting and conservation projects in Arizona.Last year we funded a new water catchment in 34A, which should be completed next month by AZG&F and volunteers. What do you sleep on when you hunt or camp. I have been in the mattress business for 33 years. We specialize in mattresses and foam pads for sleeping.I can make you a new mattress or rebuild your old mattress for your RV. I even carry Poly foam pads to fit any cot or any size pad to throw on the floor, either in the tent or on the ground outside. Poly foam is lightweight and last a long time, it can be rolled up or stored just about any where.If you don't like the mattress in your RV, call me or PM me and we can discuss your options. Stan, Call me with your cot size and I can give you a price. The 3 inch pad is plenty for the cot. This keeps you warm in cold wheather and rolls up easy. For members here the average price is 65.00 for the 3 inch pad with a cover on it.The egg crate or convoluted foam is too thin to make a differnce. The memory foam is good but wears out to quick and is heavy and pricey.Good luck to all this season, game on starting Friday !!! Bobby
