Thanks for all the kind words guys. Just a little update, sadly after the 60 day drying period he did not make the book. He has tremendous length and will be an awesome mount but his prongs are lacking and his mass could of been better. His final official score is 78 2/8ths. Hopefully in 23 years when I get my next tag I can do better.

What brand is the ammo?

What kind of groups were you getting? Factory ammo or reloads? Rick

Thanks for pics Eli, great to be able to have before and after photos. He was a little west of where you took the pic. Pretty sure I saw him even further east of where you took the pic on the 14th. Curious as to what you think he'll score as I was only able to take length measurements (17.5") before dropping him off at the taxidermist. Planned on picking up the horns up after it was caped and getting a rough score but found out the taxidermist is an official scorer so won't know until early November.

What kind of groups are you getting?

In the valley if your wanting smoked sausage, sticks or jerky I would go with Southwest Processing or Von Hansens.

Eli sure looks like it could be him. Is that 4A? Also adding another pic since I didn't mention I got to spend some quality time with my daughter who is the best hunting partner I could ever have even though she told me not to shoot this buck. Geez, trophy hunters (lol).

Should of mentioned this is a heavy barrel.

Blue Marlin 17V bolt action in 17 HMR. I replaced the hardwood stock with a laminate off the stainless models. I also replaced the factory trigger with a Rifle Basix trigger. I purchased this rifle new and it has less than 150 rds down the barrel. Very accurate, only reason for selling is I have too many 17HMR's and this one never gets out of the safe.
