Deluxe or standard?

The Flathead is a pretty sterile stream as far as bug life goes. That being said it's full of small West slope cutthroat that are eager to take dry flies. We were up there last year and I did some wading on the different Forks and did a float with my daughter on the main stem from Columbia Falls down to the old Steel Bridge. I threw streamers the whole time as it's pretty big water with a lot of deep holes. Biggest Cutthroat caught was 16 inches. The guide said that was the biggest native that had been brought in his boat all year so I wouldn't go expecting to catch any monsters. I caught numerous small bull trout 14-20" as well as couple of suckers., I don't think you're legally allowed to specifically Target bull trout, but I'd be tempted to Chuck big nasty streamers. Small purple chubby Chernobyls were very productive as well as stimulators, and other general attractors. We did find one pod of natives rising to a sporadic pmd hatch that would only take PMD patterns but for the most part I wouldn't call the fish in the Flathead selective. It is beautiful country for sure! However, if you want to go to Montana to fish, I'd stick with the mo, beaverhead, big hole, Madison, or Jellystone. Have fun! Schmitty

FOR Sale Rims and tires that came off of my 2008 RZR. Wheels are stock 12" steel with 4/156 bolt pattern which will fit most RZR's and Rangers. Tires are Maxxis BigHorn 2.0 with lots of life left. (2) Front Tires are 27x9 x12 (4) Rear tires are 27x11x12 The good: The tires and rims hold air, tires have plenty of tread and the price (the same tires are $185/each new!) The bad: The steel wheels are 10 years old and are dinged up and a few of the tires have been plugged over the past couple of years but hold air. $150 FOR ALL 4 RIMS AND TIRES I'm in Prescott, but make it down to the valley a couple of times a month. Ed, I live just down the road from you. (we met this year in 6a and helped with you with your photos of your Dec. archery buck) I've got hundreds of coues reference photos that you are welcome to use from 5 plus years of trail cams in MX as well as a few quality mounts on my wall that were done by Clay Goldman that you can look at up close. Do yourself a favor. Go to Sportsman's and buy a box of the bulk Hornady ammo shooting 140 grain match hollo w points. They were on sale for $110 for 200 rounds. I bought them for the brass, but they shot half minute in my rifle with only an 8 FPS velocity spread over 10 rounds through the Chrono. Needless to say I went back and bought two more boxes so I should be good for a while! I reload for all of my rifles, but why reload when I can get that performance 4 much less than the cost of the components.
