Most all of my mounts are the very first animals I shot here in az and they are all small but are my trophies. Trophies don't have to be big to be considered trophies in the eyes of the beholder. If your idea of a trophy is big numbers on the tape then be it. It's all good. My very first deer I killed was a spike and I consider it my first trophy. TJ

I have also tried to stain antlers in the past but none ever came out as good as yours. Great job! TJ

I have heard this is a fun shoot but unfortunately I have to cook meat in my pit for a wedding on saturday or Peg and I would have been there. I hope everyone takes lots of pictures and can't wait to see the pics and hear the stories of everyone's good times. Shot straight and good luck to everyone. TJ

Coach, I'm hearing the same thing from alot of friends. Hang in there and keep the hen talk going. Most hens are on the eggs but the toms are still looking for a hen to mate. This is a time to have a hen decoy with you. When you get a tom to answer you then throw out the decoy and hopefully he makes his move. It's worked many times for me over the years. Don't be afraid to chase after a gobbler and then throw up the decoy. Just a few things that I've done over the years. Good luck! TJ

It can be so simple but then so rewarding at the same time. You're not catching big fish with bluegills but just having a great time on the water with family or friends. Fishing clears your mind of the everyday madness and brings everything back in to perspective. Take a kid fishing and you will feel the reward at the end of the day for sure. TJ

Awesome video on the pig hunt. I used a swacker on my cow elk this year along with my pig and both died within minutes of the shot. I've never been a big fan of mechanicle blades but I'm slowly changing my mind. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Congratulations on your coati. I know where there are a few near the valley but don't know that I actually want to shoot one. Looks like you got a nice one. TJ -
I haven't been out in the woods much this year but this is the time they start dropping. Thanks for sharing. TJ

Congratulations Zach on a very nice buck. Let's hear the story if you don't mind. TJ

Has anyone ate one of these that you know? Just wondering. I always said I wouldn't shoot something unless I was going to eat it. TJ

No matter what it scores it's a darn nice buck. Congratulations! TJ

It was a great day of fishing but the catching sucked and so did I as a matter of fact. My friend Scott and I fished 7 hours and only put one crappie in the boat. It was released before the trip home. The weather and wind cooperated but we just couldn't make it happen. Where was standman when I needed him? The one crappie I caught was a nice one but let it go for another unfortunate fisherman like myself. Brian, aka standman, caught them all but this last crappie in the lake. TJ

Pictures are always welcome on here and I can't wait to see these bulls grow as well. Thanks for sharing with those of us stuck in the valley most of the time. TJ

Congratulations to Chase on these nice looking trophies. Can't wait to stop in and check out your shop if I ever get up that way. Your work always look great. TJ -
As I was coming home from my NM fishing trip yesterday, I had a dodge with a coueswhitetail sticker in the back window, pass me south of the 4peaks turn off. I didn't even get a wave. lol TJ

We used both meal worms and nightcrawlers. The meal worms are less messy and are the perfect size to thread on a #8 hook. If you just hook them in the middle the bluegills will pull them off. We only use a piece of crawler the size of the meal worms and do the same. A dozen worms cut up go along way. I tie a barrel swivel on the end of my line and then tie on a 12" piece of 4lb test on the other end with a #8 hook. Place a small split shot on the upper side of the swivel. This setup will keep your line from twisting. Most of the bigger bluegills were in about 6 - 10ft. If you are catching nothing but little ones then move until you find the bigger ones. Hope this helps. Good luck fishing. TJ
